Researchers have made pre- and post-quake dives in a submersible vehicle to the sea floor directly above where the 11 March 2011, magnitude 9 Tohoku megaquake took place. Their sea-floor visits reveal significant changes attributable to the event, including major uplift and horizontal motion, and evidence of fault activation during the quake, such as fissures and signs of chemical-rich fluids seeping from the seabed. Another study reveals an extraordinary dual aspect of the megaquake not observed in previous earthquakes studies—specifically, that a relatively shallow zone produced the sudden uplift that launched the huge tsunami while a deep region simultaneously radiated the energy that severely shook Japan. Other seismic imaging of the site where the megaquake struck suggests that the biggest shocks are related to large seamounts and ridges being squeezed into the Earth's mantle underneath Japan by plate motions, and snagging on the underbelly of the continent they're getting shoved beneath.

Illustrator Reacts to Requested Manga Artists (Mangaka)
After the last Illustrator Reacts to Good and Bad Manga art episode, I got tons more requests for Mangaka to cover in this series. And I am happy to oblige! So in this episode we look at a bunch of the requested artists. fantastic creators such as Boichi (Dr. Stone and Sun Ken Rock), Eiichiro Oda (One Piece), Sui Ishida (Tokyo Ghoul), Kaoru Mori (A Bride's Story), Posuka Demizu (The Promised Neverland) and My Hero Academia creator Kohei Hirokoshi.
In each illustrator reacts video I've had a different sort of focus lately on a specific theme, this time I talk a lot about how different artists use different rending styles or color schemes. I also break down Boichi's coloring process which he laid out in an article online. I also talk a bit about text layout and how switching text in a manga from Japanese to English can sometimes mess up the flow of a piece. And of course I had to talk about how awesome of a protagonist Luffy is for Eiichiro Oda's art style!

So today Rain tries natto for the first time in her life!
Okay so the other day Ame was telling me about natto and how I have to try it, so I went to the Asian grocery store and picked up a package. Natto is a fermented soybean that has many health benefits. It is very popular in japan but you do need to have an acquired taste for it. It's famous for its bad smell.
Here are some of the variations of natto I tried.

A quick video on my AAA-01 Andromeda build. The ship is spectacular, even comes with decals. This is BY FAR my favorite miniature ship in the Bandai Battleship Yamato series. The Yamato itself would come second. I did a little bit of weathering because the plastic would look really plain. I also painted the nose and the helm of the ship. Thanks for watching!

Seasoning the Seasons - Furano - Summer in the Purple City [1080p]
Hokkaido is a locale full of vast lands in the north of Japan. In its center, lies the city of Furano. The 3 months of summer, July to September, is Furano's tourist season, and a total of 2 million people come to visit Furano from all over the world. In this episode of Seasoning the Seasons, we bring you a short summer tale of northern Japan.
The Enchanted Queen of Purples
Travelers to Furano head straight to the more than 15 lavender farms in the city. Lavenders, flowers which the city is famous for, are native to the Mediterranean. Because of its elegant color and fragrance, it is referred to as the queen of herbs. It is a wonderful season when the city is enveloped in the purple flowers. Cultivation of lavenders began in 1946, when farmers wanted the oil that is harvested from the lavender, used to make perfumes and cosmetics.
Kingdom of Vegetables
In Summer, Furano becomes one of the best treasure troves for vegetables in Japan. The types of vegetables here are plentiful. Of all the vegetables grown in Hokkaido, most of them can be harvested in Furano. The city is a basin surrounded by mountains. Vegetables are mainly grown in the fields on the plains, and the climate with temperature differences unique to the basin geology creates vegetables with a strong sweetness.
Hokkai Navel Festival
Every year on July 28 and 29, Furano's largest festival takes place, an occasion that the locals look forward to. It is the Hokkai Heso Matsuri or the Hokkai Navel Festival. The participants dance with faces drawn on their bare stomachs. This festival was born to unite the locals when 2 towns merged and became Furano City. Today, during the 2 days of the festival, the town is flooded with 70,000 tourists. And anyone can join in the dance if they want to.

So I got these Balenciaga Platform Crocs and wore them around for a week, just to see if they could be styled and generally how crazy they were! What do you think? The Kukulkan ship is detailed with small features and indents on the surfaces. BUT, the finished product is very plain. I would highly recommend you do panel lining or weathering to make it really stand out. There are only two colors (Green and White) which doesn't make the ship stand out. I practiced with my panel line accent colors on this to test out. Thanks for watching!

zuku has green eyes, black curly hair with green highlights and freckles around the cheeks. During his Junior High School days, he wore a black gakuran uniform with yellow buttons. In U.A., he wears the standard male uniform: a light grey suit over a white dress shirt and dark green dress pants, along with a red necktie that he does not tie properly, making it shorter than it should be. Izuku usually wears oversized red shoes. Though initially he was very skinny, Izuku has gained an array of well-developed muscles after his training with All Might. Izuku is many times described as being very plain.
