Baan Kiriwong in Nakhon Si Thammarat Thailand
Baan Kiriwong is the kind of place where it’s easy to feel right at home. Located in the countryside outside of Nakhon Si Thammarat in southern Thailand, exploring this little village makes a great day trip for many reasons.
The village is best known as an ecotourism destination, and it was even awarded for such efforts in the 1998 Thailand Tourism Awards. The residents are mostly fruit farmers growing local fruits such as mangosteen, rambutan and durian. As such, the daily way of life is very laidback around here. You can rent a bicycle for next to nothing and take in the greenery and mountain views. There are also lots of cute cafés and restaurants where you can drink traditional Thai coffee or eat southern delicacies like fried chicken and sticky rice.
Making arts and crafts as souvenirs is another main source of income for Kiriwong residents. We went to a local fabric-dyer that makes and sells beautiful scarves, cloth purses and clothing. Everything is dyed organically using leaves and pieces of tree bark from around the region. Colorful scarf designs are made by freehand drawings using wax. The wax is removed by boiling the fabric, leaving a fabulous piece of cloth that can be used as a sarong, tablecloth or a tapestry for home. The scarves can be purchased here, and they are also shipped and sold around Southeast Asia too.
If you’re going to be in Nakhon Si Thammarat, make sure you stop over in Baan Kiriwong. It’s a local, authentic experience you won’t forget!

Khao Luang National Park
Having a land area of 597 square kilometres, it was declared a national park on December 18, 1974. The park has a winding mountain range, with the Khao Luang peak the highest of the peaks in southern Thailand at 1,835 metres above sea level. It is the watershed of more than 15 streams and rivers.
Ban Khiri Wong is an ancient community that settled at the foot of Khao Luang in Tambon Kamlon, near a path that goes up the mountain. This peaceful village is like one big, happy family. The main occupation is growing fruits, such as mangosteen, rambutan, durian, and Sato.

This place is so beautiful!! There are many mountains around the village, and waterfall is good!
You can take Tuk-Tuk to go tour this village and you can eat Isan Foods near waterfall.

เส้นทางเข้าสวนผลไม้ บ้านคีรีวง เส้นทางลา่ดชันมาก บางเส้นทางโค้งหักศอก ความกว้างของถนน ประมาณ40-60 ซม.
หากไม่มีความชำนาญในการขับขี่รถจะอันตรายมาก
รถ serow ส่วนมากใช้ กันในหมู่บ้าน

- แตรรถ
- และสิ่งสำคัญคือสติ
สิ่งเหล่านี้ต้องพร้อมใช้งานเสมอๆ
ไม่เช่นนั้นหากเกิดอุบัติเหตุขึ้นมา แขนขาหัก หรืออาจจะต้องเสียชีวิตได้
อีก 40-70วันโดยประมาณ ก็ถึงช่วงเก็บเกี่ยวผลไม้แล้ว
เส้นทางหากยังไม่ถึงสวนก็รีบเร่งรีบทำกันตาม งบประมาณที่ชาวบ้าน ช่วยกันออกค่าใช้จ่ายลงขัน คนล่ะ 2000-3000 เท่าที่มีแรง
ถนนเส้นนี้ คือบนล้อน วันนัดคือ ทุกวันอาทิตย์ จะมาช่วยกันลงมือทำถนนเสมอๆ
