Fishing For Crayfish In Japan!
We went fishing for American Crayfish in Japan by some of our family's rice fields!
Galen Park Travels | Land of The Rising Sun 2019年 3月
Galen Park Travels | Japan March 2019
It was my first time to travel to the Land of the Rising Sun ☀️???????? and I was literally blown away by Japan's amazing, vibrant, and rich culture.
It is so clean (like yes, extremely clean), Japanese are very polite and kind (in some cases, they would go out of their way to help you), public order is something to be admired for, transportation is always on time and convenient, food is really delicious (like I’ve literally fallen in love with eating), and of course, the best part, I was able to spend time with my friends (turned family).
I experienced Tokyo’s urban and laid back side. I stayed at my friend’s house in Setagaya (near Kitami Station of Odakyu Line). I love their neighborhood – super close to everything you basically need to live life.
I traveled around Tokyo (Shinjuku, Ginza – my personal favorite, Akihabara, Ueno, Harajuku, etc.) very lively, good for shopping, and wide array of food choices – you’ll never get hungry believe me.
My personal favorite was traveling to Kawagoe (川越 known as the “Little Edo”) and my friend’s hometown. Both are located in Saitama Prefecture 埼玉県). I had a blast seeing the traditional architecture and roads, home to some of the beautiful structures of the past. I felt I was walking during Japan’s Edo period. Food in Kawagoe? Don’t even get me started. From sushi, chicken skewers, dango, mechi katsu, etc., everything was extraordinary.
At my friend’s hometown, I was given the rare opportunity of being invited to their house (experiencing Japanese hospitality and warmth). I instantly became part of their family. I enjoyed their cooking, our very extravagant yakiniku dinner, and of course, their local Onsen which was so relaxing – especially the wonderful “pot” which I slept for a few minutes (yes I did LOL) while soaked in hot water and my face exposed to the cold spring breeze, spell heaven?
I shopped goods, souvenirs, etc. at the local supermarket and drugstore near my friend’s house (which was really cheap), other goods were from the airport while I was waiting for my flight. The rest, well I shopped at none other than, Ginza!

Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.
