Kitasui Tunnel (北吸トンネル), Maizuru City
Kitasui Tunnel
This tunnel use to be used as a railway that carried people and Navel goods until 1972. Now it is a walking/biking path. The tunnel's atmosphere is of a retro feel and it was registered as a Cultural Property. When you enter the tunnel you see patterns on the walls that were made from the black smoke from the steam locomotives.

昭和47年まで海軍物資や人々を運搬していた鉄道の跡地が自転車道路として整備。レトロな雰囲気のトンネルは国登録文化財。中に入ると、SLのけむりで黒く模様がついています。

Youth 18 Ticket Trip
Between Aug. 13th-18th we used the Youth 18 ticket (青春18きっぷ Seishun jūhachi kippu) to travel. With this ticket you can only use local trains and not any type of express trains, including the Shinkansen (Bullet Train).
It was fun riding the train and getting off at different areas and seeing the sights.
I would recommend using this ticket if you are not in hurry to go. Also with this ticket, you can ride the Moonlight Nagara train.

This river is Uji River, that flows southwest from the east of Kyoto. Uji River drift to Osaka.
