EGYPT: Aswan - Nile - Kitchener's Island - Nubian village
Aswan is a busy market and tourist centre located on the east bank of the Nile, in the south of Egypt. It is one of the hottest, sunniest and driest cities in the world and rainfall doesn't occur every year. The stone quarries of ancient Egypt located here were celebrated for their stone. They furnished the colossal statues, obelisks, and monolithal shrines that are found throughout Egypt, including the pyramids.

El Nabatat Island, or Kitchener's Island, is a small, oval-shaped island in the Nile at Aswan, Egypt. It is one of two major islands on the Nile in vicinity of Aswan, the other one being Elephantine. The Aswan Botanical Garden is located on the island. The island and gardens can be reached by felucca (traditional wooden sailing boat).
The island is known as Kitchener's Island, named after Lord Kitchener who owned it. He was gifted the island, when he served as Consul-General in Egypt from 29 September 1911 to June 1914. With the aid of the Ministry of Irrigation, Kitchener rapidly transformed the small 750 metres (2,460 ft) long island into a paradise of exotic trees, many from India, and plants in gardens with view walkways. It later passed into the property of the Egyptian government and was used as a research station called the Botanical Research Institute, Aswan Botanic Island.

Nubia is a region along the Nile river encompassing the area between Aswan in southern Egypt and Khartoum in central Sudan. It was the seat of one of the earliest civilizations of ancient Africa, with a history that can be traced from at least 2500 BC onward with the Kerma culture.
The latter was conquered by the New Kingdom of Egypt under pharaoh Thutmose I around 1500 BC. Nubia was home to several empires, most prominently the kingdom of Kush, which conquered Egypt during the 8th century BC during the reign of Piye and ruled the country as its Twenty-fifth Dynasty (to be replaced a century later by the native Egyptian Twenty-sixth Dynasty).
Today, Africans of Nubian descent primarily live in southern Egypt, especially in the Luxor and Aswan area. Nubians have been resettled in large numbers away from southern Egypt since the 1960s, when the Aswan High Dam was built on the Nile, flooding ancestral lands.

Philea island, Aswan, Egypt
Of all the temples you visit in Egypt, no visit is more beautiful than a visit to Philea island. The approach is resplendent, with the temple of Isis sitting proud. The whole complex is amazing, but the views on departure are breath taking.

Kitchener’s Island (island of plants), is a small island in the Nile at Aswan, Egypt
Kitchener’s Island (island of plants), is a small, oval-shaped island in the Nile at Aswan, Egypt. The Aswan Botanical Garden is located upon -and co-extensive with- the entire island. Kitchener's Island is one of two major islands on the Nile in vicinity of Aswan, the other one being Elephantine. Elephantine is much larger than Kitchener's Island and located between Kitchener's Island and the city of Aswan (east bank). Thus, it is hard to see the smaller Kitchener's Island from the city. The island was given to Lord Kitchener as a reward for his services in the Sudan Campaign (1896-1898). With the aid of the Ministry of Irrigation, Kitchener rapidly transformed the small 750 metres (2,460 ft) long island into a paradise of exotic trees and plants in carefully gardens with view walkways. It later passed into the property of the Egyptian government and was used as a research station for examining different food and cash crops. Today a biological research station is located at the southern tip, which is closed to botanical garden visitors. The island as a whole constitutes a botanical garden - the Aswan Botanical Garden. One can view the many types of subtropical, exotic, and rare plantings - a collection begun by Lord Kitchener and expanded since. The gardens are particularly popular among the local people and tourists as a park for a quiet afternoon away from the noise of the city and weekend picnics. The island and gardens can be reached by felucca, motorboat, or one of local ferries.

EGYPT 799 - KITCHENER ISLAND *BOTANICAL GARDEN* (by Egyptahotep)
Kitchener Island (botanical Garden) Aswan:
The Aswan Botanical Garden (Kitchener island) is located at the west side of Elephantine Island , The island was given to Lord Horatio Kitchener in the 1890's when he was commander of the Egyptian army. Due to his passion for beautiful palms and plants, Kitchener turned the entire island in a botanical garden, importing plants from the Far East, India and parts of Africa even from America. Covering 6.8 hectares, it is filled with birds as well as hundreds of species of flora. The garden may have lost some of its former glory, but its majestic palm trees are still a stunning sight, particularly before sunset.
it is a Beautiful Place worthy to be visited for Everybody.
EGYPT: Nile Cruise & Ancient Monuments (Luxor, Aswan, Giza)
Impression of Egypt along the Nile. More videos of the 7-day Nile Cruise:
Egyptian civilization have depended on the river Nile since ancient times. Most of the population and cities of Egypt lie along the Nile valley north of Aswan. Silt deposits from the Nile made the surrounding land fertile because the river overflowed its banks annually. The Ancient Egyptians cultivated and traded wheat, flax, papyrus and other crops around the Nile. The Nile was also a convenient and efficient means of transportation for people and goods. Nearly all the cultural and historical sites of Ancient Egypt are found along river banks.
The Nile was an important part of ancient Egyptian spiritual life and considered to be a causeway from life to death and the afterlife. The east was thought of as a place of birth and growth, and the west was considered the place of death. Thus, all tombs were west of the Nile, because the Egyptians believed that in order to enter the afterlife, they had to be buried on the side that symbolized death.

For more detailed information about each monument see the description of each individual video. Except for:
The Colossi of Memnon (51:16) are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the Dynasty XVIII. For the past 3,400 years (since 1350 BC), they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. Two shorter figures are carved into the front throne alongside his legs: these are his wife Tiye and mother Mutemwiya. The side panels depict the Nile god Hapy.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (55:30), known commonly as the Egyptian Museum, in Cairo-Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. It houses the world's largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities.
Part of the collection will be moved to the new Grand Egyptian Museum set to open in 2020. It will house Tutankhamun's complete collection of between 4000 and 5000 artefacts, many of which are undergoing restoration and have never been displayed; the vast collection we have viewed at the old museum represents only about a third of the whole. The Grand Egyptian Museum is located on 50 hectares at Giza, two kilometres from the Grand Pyramids. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo will remain open.
