Kite Museum Ahmedabad | India's only Kite Museum in Ahmedabad

A kite lover of the Ahmedabad city Bhanu Shah took a unique initiative of donating a collection of his kites to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation. In return, the corporation devoted the cellar of the Sanskar Kendra in Ahmedabad to host this collection. This came to be called Patang Kite Museum and attracts intrigued visitors.

International Kite Festival 2019 - Ahmedabad, Gujarat | Food Zone | Craft Stall | Culture Show

Ahmedabad hosts International Kite Festival every year from 1989. This festival also celebrated in Vadodara, Surat, Amreli, Jamanagar, Kutch and in other cities of Gujarat. This festival usually celebrated during second week of January.

Gandhi Ashram at Sabarmati Ahmedabad | Kite Museum (2019)

gandhi ashram in ahmedabad India was established in the Kochrab area of Ahmedabad on 25 May 1915. The Ashram was then shifted on 17 June 1917 to a piece of open land on the banks of the river Sabarmati. Reasons for this shift included: he wanted to do some experiments in living eg farming, animal husbandry, cow breeding, Khadi and related constructive activities, for which he was in search of this kind of barren land; mythologically, it was the ashram site of Dadhichi Rishi who had donated his bones for a righteous war; it is between a jail and a crematorium as he believed that a satyagrahi has to invariably go to either place. i also visited one and only kite mueseum

Shreyas Museum with RJ Hashil | Museums of Ahmedabad

Functional since 1977, we visited the Lokayatan Folk Museum popularly known as the Shreyas Folk Museum on the occasion of #InternationalMuseumDay. Even with its magnanimous aura and collection, it's surprising to witness that the museum is amongst the lesser known ones in Ahmedabad. And Just like us, RJ Harshil of Radio City was equally inquisitive to know the stories of the past concealed within the walls of the museum. In this video, you can see Harshil talking about the importance of visiting a museum for not only children but even adults.

Vechaar Utensils Museum | Ahmedabad Museum | FilmStar Place

Vishalla prides itself on its presentation of Indian culture and tradition in its village-like environment with its museum of old utensils known as Vechaar. The museum found its way into Vishalla three years after Vishalla was itself started, on 27 April 1981. Vechaar is the only museum of its kind in the world, displaying such a precious collection of utensils. The designer of Vishalla, Mr. Patel, shares his success in the establishment of Vechaar with Mr. Jyontindra Jain, a well-known anthropologist. Mr. Jain fully supported and guided the cause and eventually helped in setting up the museum itself. His passion for the cause was so deep that his good work did not stop at that; he wrote catalogs for the museum himself.

A walk around the hut-like museum makes one's heart skip a beat, marveling at the inimitable beauty of these utensils of old. These utensils have been handed down through the changing seasons and times, over the years. They speak of the unmatched art and genius of humankind during the days of old when people did not have the modern facilities of our times. The designer could not let our rich heritage pass with these vessels being lost in the fire kilns! He was determined to preserve them, and today, his dream is a reality in the form of Vechaar.

The museum will be closed on Monday.

മിറര്‍ വര്‍ക്ക് പട്ടങ്ങള്‍ 16 അടി നീളമുള്ള കൃഷ്ണന്‍െയും രാധയുടെയും ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ആലേഖനം ചെയ്തവ ജാപ്പനീസ് പട്ടങ്ങള്‍ വരെ ഈ ശേഖരണത്തിലുണ്ട്.മ്യൂസിയത്തോടൊപ്പം പട്ടങ്ങളുടെ ചരിത്രവും ശാസ്ത്രീയ വശങ്ങളുെ എങ്ങനെ നിര്‍മ്മിക്കാം എന്നതടക്കമുള്ള കാര്യങ്ങളും ഇവിടെ പറയുന്നു
പട്ടങ്ങള്‍ മാത്രമല്ല ഒരുപാട് ചിത്രങ്ങളുടെയും ഇല്ലുസ്‌ട്രേഷനുകളുടെയും കേന്ദ്രം കൂടിയാണ്

Built in 1981 within the vicinity of Vishalla Village Restaurant is the VECHAAR (Vishalla Environmental Centre for Heritage of Art, Architecture and Research) Utensils Museum, a brainchild of architect Mr. Surender C. Patel. It is an effort to cherish and preserve our rich cultural heritage and rare artistic skills and wisdom of our craftsmen. It is an extensive study of utensils from thousand years old to present times, that have evolved over different periods of history as a result of our changing needs and environment. The range varies from leaves or a gourd jug, to modern stainless steel and glass utensils. The metal utensils cover everything from brass, copper, bronze, zinc to German silver.

My Group wanted to do something different, so we decided to make movies of all the topics that we were suppose to present on. Making the movie helped us present well in the entire presentation of 42 mins. Thanks to my Team for working till the last min. of the presentation, it was made before going to Ahmedabad, which helped us relate things that we see better.

Participants from over 45 countries on Sunday took part in the 30th edition of the International Kite Festival in India's Ahmedabad city in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state of Gujarat. The festival will run for eight days and will see the participation of hundreds of members from across the globe filling Ahmedabad's sky with vibrant hues. There is also a competitive section, where participants are asked to show their ability to cut the thread of other flyers' kites. The annual kite-flying festival marks the start of spring.

Ikazaki kite museum

In the town of Ikazaki on the island of Shikoku not far from the henro trail you will find an excellent kite museum that is definitely worth checking out. It is in a beautiful newer Japanese style building very near the river on which the yearly kite festival is held. This video is a brief walkthrough that shows some of the kites on display from across the globe. There is far too much to see than can be contained in a brief video. The displays on kite making techniques, the physics of flight and the history of traditional kites from many cultures are very well done. If you go be sure to bring an appetite, this museum also features an excellent udon and ramen restaurant! On a very hot and humid summer day I enjoyed a refreshing bowl of cold udon. Before leaving to continue my 88 temple pilgrimage I decided to take rest and fly my iFlite kite (this is currently my favorite kite). This area is also known for very high quality traditional handmade paper and you can see many beautiful examples to purchase or on display at the paper museum in Ikazaki.
