Pasir Gudang Kite Museum (Malay: Muzium Layang-Layang) is the first museum in Malaysia to present a history of kites. It has been opened since 2002 as a monument to all kiters throughout the world. An exhibition includes a lot of colorful kites, information posters and video about Pasir Gudang International Kite Festival. The museum has an unique working windmill whose mechanism works to generate enough electricity to supply the daily needs of the museum .

Muzium Layang-layang or Pasir Gudang Kite Museum is located on top of Kite Hill. It also hosts the annual Pasir Gudang International Kite Festival since 1995
In December 2018, Malaysia had wanted Singapore to withdraw its plan to implement the Instrument Landing System (ILS) or change the flight route to Seletar Airport via Pasir Gudang
Pasir Gudang port would encounter higher risks due to the height that Singapore wants to set for the airport’s ILS.
Loke said if the ILS flight path were allowed, Malaysia would not be able to build tall buildings in Pasir Gudang with the port also subjected to higher risks and multiple restrictions.
Pasir Gudang is now the third city after Johor Bahru and Iskandar Puteri in the state of Johor

a great experience to Pasir Gudang laying layang international kite festival 2019. A young Italian delegation to this great event, so well manage in front of kite museum. a bit gusty wind but we flown everyday without any sign of rain.
this region is very close to Singapore, where we have been to do a small tour and fly some of our kites:

World Kite Festival - Pasir Gudang
Since 1995, Pasir Gudang in Johor had been the home for one of the most prestigious kite festival in the world, the Pasir Gudang World Kite Festival. The kite festival, which is organized by the Pasir Gudang Municipal Council along with the Johor Government, has completed its 16th event held on 16-20 February 2011, next to the famous Pasir Gudang Kite Museum at Kite Hill (Bukit Layang Layang).
Every year, kite enthusiasts from all around the world gather for this happening event, which is filled with kite-related activities such as workshops, exhibitions and displays. Every year, colourful kites of all shapes and design fill and decorate the sky of Johor, making for an impressive sight. The 2011 festival continued a trend of growth, being the biggest yet with over 220 foreign participants from 30 different countries, many coming from faraway countries such as France, Austria and Spain.
