Our aim is to raise funds and awareness for a fee-free kindergarten on the island of Boavista.
Between the 01st and 8th of February 2018, 25 national and international kitesurfing athletes will cross 75km+ of open Atlantic Ocean. They will only use a kite and board for this unique adventure. Everyrider will pay a participation fee of 330€. All remaining proceeds, after costs are covered, will be donated to the kindergarten.

We will raise at least $14.000. This covers all costs for the kindergarten for a year.
The property is located in the center of the city of Sal Rei (capital of the island of Boavista) and can accommodate up to 80 pre-school children from the age of 9 months to 6 years. The kids receive breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack, they will brush their teeth, rest, play and participate in various creative and educational activities until 5 pm.

Take a look at the island of Santo Antao in the Cape Verde Islands. Approximately 20 Km by 40 Km, this charming island has a lot to offer.Santo Antão is Portuguese for Saint Anthony) and it is the most westerly and largest of the Barlavento islands of Cape Verde. It is also the westernmost large island in the continent of Africa. The island is entirely made up of volcanic material. The tallest mountain is Topo de Coroa, reaching a height of 1,979 m. The second tallest is Pico da Cruz at 1,585 m. The island is divided into north and south by a mountain range long considered impenetrable but now crossed by a road. The island's main town is Ponta do Sol on the north coast, home to the Agostinho Neto Airport, while its ferry port is Porto Novo on the south coast. Many of its volcanoes are young, especially its calderas. Since 1999, vulcanologists have observed continuous rising of the water temperature of the sea in the area of Ponta do Sol which may indicate the risk of a new eruption in the area.

Cape Verde | Highlights of the island Sal (Advertisement)
After 3 days on Boa Vista it was time for us to hop over to Sal. And when I say hop over I'm not exaggerating, as that flight only takes 10 minutes ;) Literally the shortest flight we've ever been on. Sal's highlights include the saline at Pedra de Lume and of course the famous pier in the fishing village of Santa Maria.

Each island of Cape Verde has it's own identity. Boavista Island is the Desert Island. Its golden white sand beaches was flown over from the Sahara desert by winds of thousands years. And there, on the West side of the island is Cape Verde's little desert. Eventually it's time to go and we sail 40NM west on to Sao Nicolau island. A beautiful overnight sail in unique conditions.

Sal is an island in Cape Verde. It belongs to the northern group of islands, called Barlavento (windwards), and comprises a single administrative division, the Sal municipality. The island is home to Amílcar Cabral International Airport, the main airport of Cape Verde.
The island was discovered on December 3, 1460 and named Llana until salt deposits were found. Sal is the geologically oldest island in Cape Verde, formed 50 million years ago during the eruption of a volcano which is now inactive.
The island is 35 km long by 12 km wide. It is one of the three sandy eastern islands (Sal, Boa Vista and Maio) of the archipelago, with white sandy beaches and fairly flat. The highest elevation of 408 m is at Monte Grande. Serra Negra has a height of 92 m.

Republika Zielonego Przylądka (port. Cabo Verde, República de Cabo Verde) – państwo wyspiarskie na Oceanie Atlantyckim, położone 620 km na zachód od zachodnich wybrzeży Afryki, geograficznie tożsame z Wyspami Zielonego Przylądka wraz z wodami terytorialnymi.
Wyspy Zielonego Przylądka stanowią archipelag położony w środkowej części Oceanu Atlantyckiego, 620 km na zachód od wybrzeży Afryki, na wysokości Przylądka Zielonego. Archipelag ten składa się z 10 głównych wysp i 16 mniejszych wysepek. Dzielą się one na dwie grupy: Wyspy Zawietrzne (Ilhas de Barlavento) i Podwietrzne (Ilhas de Sotavento). Wyspy Zawietrzne to położone na północy wyspy: Santo Antao, Sao Vicente, Santa Luzia, Sao Nicolau, Sal i Boa Vista. Wyspy Podwietrzne leżą na południu, są to Maio, Santiago, Fogo i Brava. Wnętrza wysp są górzyste z najwyższym szczytem Pico – 2829 m n.p.m. Wyspy zajmują powierzchnię 4033 km2. Wszystkie, oprócz wyspy Santa Luzia, są zamieszkane. Główne miasta: (stan na 1 stycznia 2005 r.): Praia – 113 364 mieszkańców, Mindelo – 70 611 mieszkańców, Santa Maria – 17 231 mieszkańców, Assomada – 9488 mieszkańców, Sao Filipe – 8189 mieszkańców.
