Ski area Kitzbühel Alps, Hollersbach, Pass Thurn
Thanks to the construction of the Panorama railway in 2005, Hollersbach is now connected to the large Kitzbühel Alps ski area. You can either get here by travelling directly through the Kitzbühel Alps from Kufstein, or from the East, using the A10 motorway via Bischofshofen and Zell am See.
The “Kitzbühel“ ski pass offers over 170 kilometres of piste for perfect skiing pleasure. The scenic railway route starts from Hollersbach and gives you a perfect connection to the ski area. With a total of 51 ski lifts you can enjoy a comfortable ride up the mountain and easily access the “Resterhöhe”, “Zweitausender” and other pistes at altitudes of 1,200 to 2,000 meters.
This is also a good starting point for sporty skiers interested in taking a tour to the legendary “Streif” – the famous racing piste on the Hahnenkamm. Families, and skiers with less experience, can take the car to Jochberg, where the famous 3S cable car smoothly takes the skiers up the Pengelstein and the Hahnenkamm. At the highest point where the cable car passes there is enough space to easily place the Eiffel tower between the gondola and the ground. A ride you will surely not experience every day.
Take a break here and enjoy the beautiful panoramic scenery.
The Hanglalm Snow Park is a real paradise: with its kickers, boxes and rails in all different sizes it definitely makes all freestylers’ hearts beat faster. For families, there are easier pistes around the “Rester Höhe” and the “Zweitausender”. Between the prepared pistes you’ll find marked ski routes for all levels of skiers, as well as deep powder snow slopes at tree line altitude.
For diversity seekers we recommend the “Kitzbüheler Alpen All-Star-Card”. This gives you access to the Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, Schneewinkel, Alpbachtal and Wildschönau ski areas. In other words, it opens the door to over 1,000 kilometres of unlimited skiing fun!

Pension Hollersbach – holiday in the Kitzbühel Alpens
The cosy and extensively renovated Pension Hollersbach is situated at the edge of the national park township Hollerbach. To the centre of the village it is approx. 300 metres, and to Mittersill, the next larger resort, it is about 4.5 kilometres.
The new, approx. 2.5 kilometres distant “Panorama“ lift takes you directly up into the ski area. A ski bus stop can be found around 250 metres from the building. The ski schools offer additional shuttles busses that commute between the lift and the practice area at Pass Thurn.
The accommodation’s facilities include a reception, bar, ski cellar and large dining hall that can also be used as a lounge between meal times. A sauna can be made available for you upon request.
The Alpine style furnished rooms all have a shower, wc, satellite TV, wifi and mostly also a balcony. Depending on the size of the rooms you may find single or double beds available.
The holiday price already includes a breakfast buffet with scrambled egg, and bacon or sausages. Muesli, yoghurt and fruit juices round off the selection. In the evenings there is a dinner buffet with starters and various menu options available. Vegetarian dishes can be ordered upon special request.
After dinner you can spend the evening in the cosy bar, or in the sociable lounge area listening to music.

Mittersill – capital of the Hohe Tauern National Park
The villages Mittersill, Hollersbach, and Stuhlfeld are all situated in Oberpinzgau at the headwaters of the Salzach, on the South side of the Kitzbühel Alps. There are several ways of getting here. It is possible to either drive through the Kitzbühel Alps from Kufstein or, coming from the East via the motorway A10, you can pass through Bischofshofen and Zell am See.
In addition to the typical, quaint Austrian cabins, you will also find shopping facilities. Café bars and restaurants invite you to enjoy a cosy stay.
Mittersill is the capital of the National Park and lies in the midst of the holiday region “Hohe Tauern” where the state-of-the-art national park “Nationalparkwelten” can be found.
But the little resort also offers other alternatives. Athletic highlights, traditional and cultural celebrations, in combination with the national park’s nature!

Kitzbühel - Sports, entertainment, and flair!
In the middle of the Kitzbüheler Alps, imbedded between the Kitzbüheler Horn and Hahnenkamm is the world famous winter sports resort Kitzbühel. The resort is at an altitude of 800 m and just a half hour from the Inntalautobahn. Innsbruck is only approximately 100 km away, and Kufstein roughly 40 km.
The Kiztbüheler Alps is a nearly incomprehensible sea of peaks that makes up Tyrol’s most scenic ski area. Every winter sports fan will get their money’s worth in Kitzbühel: never-ending cross-country trails, fun-parks for snowboarders, fantastic downhills for all skill levels and incredible pistes are awating your enjoyment.
Kitzbühel enjoys international fame as the host of the Hahnenkamm Downhill Race. The legendary stretch is synonymous with the Alpine ski regions that are incredibly rich with tradition. Go skiing in the very place the best skiers in the world compete every year for the ultimate title.
This very stretch as a ski tour or a family ride with by-pass pistes to get around the areas with an incline of up to 70% is an absolute must for every skier.
The ski region of Kitzbühel with 170 km of pistes is a perfect ski circus.
54 lifts bring you comfortably to the pistes up to 2,000 m elevation. At the Kitzbüheler Horn you’ll find a real boarder’s paradise with kickers, quarter-pipe, boxes, rails, and a 70 m-long half pipe.
If you’d like to explore more ski areas, we recommend the lift pass ‘’Kitzbüheler Alpen,’’ which grants you access to the seven ski areas of Kitzbühel, SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental, Schneewinkel, Alpbachtal, Wildschönau, Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang and Zell am See-Kaprun.

Connection to the resorts Mittersill and Hollersbach as well as the connection between Westendorf and Brixen im Thale via the Choralpe are all new since the 2008/2009 season, and this makes the perfect link between the ski areas of Wilder Kaiser-Brixental and Kitzbühel.
Today, the region belongs to one of the three largest inter-connected ski areas in the world!

Skifahren am 25. Oktober 2014 - Resterhöhe, Kitzbühel
Unglaublich, aber wahr: ein Wintereinbruch am 22. und 23. Oktober 2014 brachte gut 70 cm Neuschnee in den Kitzbüheler Alpen. Am 25. Oktober öffneten schon die ersten Lifte. Herrlicher Pulverschnee, Kaiserwetter und angenehme Temperaturen machten diesen Tag zu einem Traumskitag!
Drei Abfahrten am Resterkogel waren möglich.
