Mizusawa-dera Temple is located near mizusawa shibukawa machi, near Shibukawa City of Gunma Prefecture.
The temple is located near Ikaho hot springs and spa, so the temple is popular with people who visit the spa and other residents of the Shibukawa city.
The main deity at this temple is called Mizusawa Kannon.

After Karuizawa I decided to stop in Takasaki. It's where shinkansen line splits to Joetsu Shinkansen and Nagano Shinkansen lines. I walked from the station to Takasaki castle remains. Nice parks but not much remained from the castle. One of such parks has birds cages. And found one cat. I also went down to the river with good sunset view.

A Visit to Sanjūsangen-dō 三十三間堂 Temple (Kyōto, Japan). Since 1164, Sanjūsangen-dō has weathered the centuries in the Higashiyama district of Kyōto. Pilgrims and tourists flock to this temple by the busload to pay homage to the 1,000 Kannon statues enshrined within the main hall.
A Buddhist ceremony was taking place during my visit; I have no idea what's going on. :-)

First Trip to Japan
We first took a trip to Japan in 2016. It lasted 15 days and we started in Fukuoka all the way up to Tokyo. This video shows a tiny part of that trip. Since I had no intentions of making a video then, I wasn't able to take videos of all the places we went to!

2018 Hirokojidori Summer Festival Nagoya Japan
August is festival season in Japan, and this one here in the heart of Nagoya City Japan doesn't disappoint!
Some truly amazing performances again this year at the 2018 Hirokojidori Natsu Matsuri (広小路通り夏祭り）.
Japanese drums (taiko/wadaiko), masked dancing, Awa dancing, and more.
The atmosphere is packed with energy, people are full of life, and the beat of the drums awaken you from within.
The festival is held every year between Fushimi and Sakae in Nagoya City on Hirokojidori (street name). You can easily access the area by subway using Fushimi or Sakae stations.
Apart from all the cultural festivities, there is a huge selection of stall food to choose from too. Takoyaki (octopus balls), yakisoba (noodles), karaage (fried chicken), sweets, cakes, skewered chicken and pork, and more.
The dances and drums are the main attractions, and well worth seeing. The festival begins at 17:00 and ends at 21:00, and is held on Saturday and Sunday for two days. For the 2018 festival, the dates of the festival were 18 and 19 August.

Sendai Dai Kannon （仙台大観音） Temple, Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture
Sendai Dai Kannon (literally means Tall kannon) temple （仙台大観音） is located in Sendai City in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. Sendai Dai Kannon is a figure of Byakui Kannon Bosatsu. She is called Byakui Kannon Jizaibo, who creates every Kannon Bosatsu. She has Nyoihouju in her right hand. It makes a wish. She has Mizugame (Water Jar) in the left hand. It gives water of wisdom.
The Kannon is about 100 meters high. This temple was created as a memorial of the 100th anniversary of the foundation of Sendai City.
Attached to the elevator shaft are 108 Buddhist images called Hyakuhattai-Hotoke. In the first floor there are statues of twelve guardian dieties and thirty three Kannon Bosatsu.
