Kobe - SHOPPING STREETS
Shopping in Kobe is ubiquitous but luckily it’s all within walking distance. When you first arrive at Sannomiya Station, you’ll be greeted by department stores like SOGO and OIOI where you can get many luxury fashion items. But if you’re into more the local shopping scene then it’s a must to venture into the shopping streets, also known as shotengai.
Kobe KYUKYORYUCHI
When Kobe it’s international port in 1868, this foreign settlement was constructed. Designed by British Civil engineers the 126 blocks were auctioned to western foreigners. 70% of the buildings were destroyed after the World War II air raids in 1945. Kobe city decided preserved the remaining buildings as cultural properties.

Hyogo International House to Kobe University
Kobe is wedged in between the coast and the mountains. So it is quite a mountainous city. My school is up at the mountain. It takes me about 20 - 30 minutes to walk up to the university. Watch me on the way!

1 day Japan travel itinerary guide on what to do and eat in Kobe. Kobe offers much much more than just Kobe Beef!
Kobe is under an hour away from Kyoto and Osaka, so it makes the perfect day trip as well.
Kobe is very well known for their famous Kobe Beef, however this city has much more to offer than just that. In this video let me show you how to travel around Kobe efficiently and visit the must see places in just one day.
1 day in Kobe is enough to see the main areas of the city, however if you want to do more activities like hiking, going to the onsen or more hands on cultural experiences then a few days would be better.
Also, If you have more days to spend here then I definitely recommend checking out more of the local areas and back streets!!!

Hi again everyone. This time I show you around my residence to try and give you an idea of what (sort of low-end) student accommodation can be like in Japan.
We've got it pretty good here, canteen, rec room, ice cream vending machine!
I tried to keep it as brief as possible, not wanting to bore anyone. I would massively appreciate comments on how to improve, or requests. Thanks for watching!
EDIT: In the time since I filmed this video, Sumiyoshi dorm has enjoyed a pretty thorough refurbish. It's now a lot cleaner, and is no longer a international-only, male-only dorm. Long story short, this video is kinda outdated now!
