Day 3 in Kochi, Japan, where we did a half day tour to Kochi Castle, and afterwards, Katsurahama Beach .
Kochi Castle Japan and taking in the city life (Cruise Vacation Stop 14)
Japan is full of culture and sights. Today i make a stop in Kochi Japan for the afternoon. What is there to do? One major must see is the beautiful Kochi Castle. I get to learn some history and take in some of the culture. Look out for some local whale meat to try. Learn how to wash hands in a different way. And don't forget to take in the local fairs. Come join me and experience the journey.

Ariana attacked me... with a lobster | KOCHI DAY 3
We were able to score an awesome modeling (we are not models, lets be real..) job in Kochi for two days and the staff at the Jyoseikan we lovely enough to give me all their footage. I tried my best to work their gopro 5 footage in with my own!
Kind of annoying the Gopro 5 footage keeps changing its contrast tho... sorry about that!
First we went paddling boarding or as it is also called.. SUP! SO MUCH FUN!!! I would love to paddle it down a more rough terrain next time ! We then went to make Japanese paper.. also known as Washi. That whole process was so cool. I didn't know the actual flower designs were REAL pressed flowers.
We made a quick stop at the sinking bridge and had a nice tour on a long boat that can actually turn into a party boat at nighttime if you reserve it!
We finally ended up at Kochi castle (my favorite place in Kochi) and had a small party at hirome ひろめ市場

Constructed in the 1600s, this castle was originally named Otakasaka after the hill on which it resides. Built to defend the city below, the structure was partially damaged by a fire in the early 1700s but never faced a formal attack.

고치 현 고치 시다. 고치 시에서는 고치 성이 가볼만하다고 한다. 고치 성을 향해 언덕을 올라갔다. 웅장하게 보이는 고치 성의 돌담은 비가 많은 날씨를 고려해 배수성이 좋은 돌들로 지어졌다고 한다. 1601년 축성을 시작해 1611년 완공됐다. 성 안으로 들어가 봤다. 입구에 먼저 그림이 보였다. 성주였던 야마우치 가스토요와 아내 치요다. 치요는 가난했던 남편에게 명마를 사주어 훗날 고치 성의 성주로 만든 내조의 여왕이었다. 치요의 이야기가 NHK 드라마로 만들어졌을 때 치요 역을 맡은 배우가 입던 옷이다. 성주가 거주했던 곳인 혼마루다. 혼마루가 온전히 보존된 곳은 고치 성이 유일하다고 한다. 정원들도 깔끔하게 정돈돼 있었다. 성의 최상층인 천수각으로 올라가는 중간에 이처럼 모형을 전시해 성 축조 당시의 상황들을 쉽게 이해할 수 있게 해준다. 1727년 발생한 화재로 소실되기 이전의 고치성을 재현해 놓았다. 나무로 만든 가파른 계단을 통해 성의 상층부로 올라가 보았다. 일본 성들의 사진이 전시돼 있었다. 가파른 계단을 끝까지 올라 가장 높은 곳인 천수각에 다다랐다. 아래로 고치 성의 담장이 내려다보였다. 고치성의 정문인 오테 문이다. 고치 시가 한눈에 내려다 보였다.

関ヶ原の戦いの功績により徳川家康から土佐一国を拝領した山内一豊は、慶長6年（1601）大高坂山に新城の築城工事を始め、慶長8年（1603）に本丸と二ノ丸が完成、入城しました。享保12年（1727）城下町の大火で追手門以外の城郭のほとんどを焼失しましたが、宝暦3年（1753）までに創建当時の姿のまま再建されました。

Come and seek Kochi Japan lets visit one of the oldest castle in Japan it was build in 1601 and it was completed in 1611 Kōchi Castle was constructed in what was then the province of Tosa. It was built by Yamanouchi Kazutoyo, who took control of the province after the Tokugawa victory. The castle was constructed as part of the move from Urado to the more defensible Otakasa (alt. Odakasa) area.
