After exploring the ancient temples of Siem reap, my next destination was Koh Rong, Cambodia's 2nd largest island, and a beautiful island at that! with crystal blue water and 28 beautiful beaches to choose from, its no wonder this island is the main destination for many tourists to travel through Cambodia. this island also hosts the biggest pub crawl in Cambodia! 3 times a week! for all you party peeps. Night life on Koh Rong Island is alive with events and things to to each and every night. There is amazing food on Koh Rong Island, and cheap too! but i did get food poisoning.. so have fun!

ULTIMATE Travel Guide to Koh Rong Somloem - Cambodia's MOST BEAUTIFUL island!
Jungle trekking, waterfalls, bioluminescent plankton tours, kayaks or just beach bumming...This is our favorite island in Southeast Asia. It's small, there are no roads and until recently Koh Rong Samloem didn't have internet/wifi connections. It really is an island in the middle of nowhere with not much except crystal clear blue water and beautiful white sand beaches.

Tips: Bring lots of bug spray to this island. It's inevitable you will get bit. (The mosquitos are bird sized)

Koh Rong Cambodia - What They Don't Show You ????????
Koh Rong Cambodia is an island paradise. It's Cambodia's 2nd largest island and lives up to the reputation it has massed over time. Gorgeous turquoise water, white sand beaches, excellent seafood and still quite affordable overall.
I really loved how the island was still not too developed as well.
Expect to stay in a place with no AC or hot water. Bring mosquito repellent, be prepared for unpaved roads and a lot trekking on foot.
If you go in with the right mindset you'll love it. If you're the type that wants a bit of luxury this island is not for you. It's beautiful, adventurous and close to nature.
This specific beach at the start of the video is called long beach and we were told was famous for the sunsets. I was not disappointed.
As Cambodia is famous for terrible, unpaved roads, this island is no different.
In a good way however, the horrible roads were enough of a road block to keep other tourists at bay. Koh Rong is quite amazing.

T R A V E L T I P S
1 - Stay somewhere near the pier your first night. It's exhausting getting here. The road to Sihanoukville is unpaved and due to the massive development in the city can take hours upon hours to get to the port. Also, the pier is where all the bars, restaurants, cafes and shops are. It's nice just to be close to the night time action.
2 - I suggest booking one night before, then if you like your place you can move. We stayed in the Paradise Bungalows. Close to the pier but for the value was WAY over-priced.
3 - Bring mosquito repellent. This will seriously make your time here 100% more enjoyable.

Koh Rong Island Is off the Southern Coast of Cambodia. It is Cambodias second largest Island and to put it simply its a tropical Paradise. White sandy beaches, clear turquoise waters, dense tropical rainforest. Its amazing.
Its a place to go and disconnect from the world for a few days. And that is exactly what we did on the Island for 4 days.

Where we stayed:
Amazing resort. Quiet, chilled atmosphere. Great rooms with large beds, a great shower, AC and a safe. There is a pool and also private sun loungers. The food is good, probably the best on the 4k beach we stayed on. Food on the Island in general however, could have been better.
Overall, I would definitely recommend staying here id going to Koh Rong.
Reef on the Beach
This place is right next to reef on the beach. There are beach bungalows or tents to stay in. Our experience has been that these wooden bungalows have a lot more mosquitoes in them compared to accommodation with 4 solid walls and a solid roof. The shower here also has no hot water and there is no safe in the rooms. There is also no AC so it is quite sweaty at night. Loud music also plays quite late at night, depending on were your bungalow is located, you may be kept awake.
These bungalows are also quite dear for what you get, compared to Long Set Resort, but then again all the acommodation on the island seemed pretty expensive.
Overall, not a bad place to stay, if you don't mind mossies, no AC and no hot water.

White sand, cerulean blue water, island life, secluded paradise! If you are looking for any of those things you can't beat Cambodians hidden islands!
In this week's vlog we disembarked from Cambodia's mainland and arrived at Cambodians islands. Koh Rong and Koh Rong Samloem are situated an hour boat journey from Sihanoukville beach. Cambodia's biggest island, Koh Rong, is a beautiful premonition of what Thailand's islands would have looked like 20 years ago. A hedonistic party island where almost anything goes, however as we went in low season it was less party and more chill. Koh Rong is also littered with beautiful hidden beaches and beach resorts, which can be enjoyed in full privacy. The rain limited our stay in Koh Rong but it didn't dampen our spirits and we revelled at the chance to sit back and relax in one of its many bars and beaches, weather permitting of course.
After Koh Rong we jumped on a short ferry ride to Koh Rong Samloem. Now if you thought Koh Rong was an isolated island, Koh Rong Samleom is even more so! Unlike Koh Rong which has a little town on it, Koh Rong Samloem consists of 2 single beaches with a scattering of hotels and a couple of supermarkets. I know these words were definitely overused in this video but it really was an idyllic hidden paradise. We spent our time here doing the only thing you can here, frolicking in the pure white sand and swimming in the clear blue ocean!

3 DAYS IN HEAVEN - Koh Rong
Koh Rong is the highlight of Cambodia and it rivals even Thailand's best islands. For 3 days, we called 5 star Song Saa Resort our home but all good things must come to an end! Today we kayaked up the Mangroves and swam with the bioluminescent plankton which was AMAZING but didn't show up in the video.

Best Things to do in Koh Rong, Cambodia
After spending 6 days on Koh Rong, exploring the jungle, partying, sleeping in hammocks and jumping off everything we could find we can see why it is seen as one of Cambodia's paradise islands.
We say it in the video and we'll say it again - as much as we love Sihanoukville, spend less time there and more time here. You can do everything that you can do in Sihanoukville, however they are much better and will cost you less!
