Japan Summer Trip 2016 - Seto Inland Sea Cruise Ogijima
In previous movie we reached Takamatsu on Shikoku by ferry. Takamatsu is a convenient hub connecting a city with many small islands on Seto Inland Sea. We chose Ogijima as our next destination. According to a folk tradition, Ogijima and neighboring Megijima are inhabited by demones or ogres (oni) along with small populations of humans. On Ogijima we took a walk through subtropical forest to reach a charming lighthouse on the wild beach.

Nicolai Heidlas - Colorful Spots SUPER EXTENDED (
The end does not end (digest)
Ghosts are singing about 20th century of hunting and nomadic people. That tribe has lived in Siberia, along right side of Argun River. They call themselves “Evenki”.
Other Ghosts who lost their lives at Sonezaki River are walking along rivers. Can they arrive at the sea? Or can they not arrive at anywhere? This plot is based on Japanese traditional Ningyo joruri play Shinju Ten-no-amijima. It is a famous story of a lovers’ suicide that was written by Chikamatsu Monzaemon in the Edo period.
This fictitious Northeast Asia folk-opera directed and composed by Jun Kawasaki was realized by singer, dancers, actors, and Japanese traditional puppet operator.
“Be counter to songs, but to songs ”. It is a maxim that was left by Japanese poet Tozaburo Ono. The verbal activity begins with conflict with impossibility of making songs. This is a reactionary route to opera.

Kanagawa Owakudani - 大涌谷 - 4K Ultra HD
Kanagawa Owakudani - 大涌谷 - 4K Ultra HD : Owakudani is an area around a crater created during Mt Hakone's last eruption some 3,000 years ago. Today Owakudani is still an active volcanic zone where sulfurous fumes, hot rivers and hot springs are heavily present. Despite being a very famous tourist attraction where were you can enjoy, in some safe zones, a gorgeous view of Owakudani fumes and Mt. Fuji, the place also offers you the chance to purchase eggs naturally cooked in one of Owakudani's hot water springs. The eggshells are blackened by the sulfur and are said, according to local folklore, to prolong your life by a good seven years.
Unfortunately and as for today, Owakudani is currently closed due to an increase in seismic activity that, according to scientists, could lead to a volcanic eruption.

Japanese Permanent Hair Straightening
The salon is NALU Hair Salon in Omotesando and yes, they have employees who speak English!
I did Japanese permanent hair straightening, aka thermal reconditioning, in mid-September. How it works is:
Your hair shaft has two types of bonds that contribute to its shape. Hydrogen bonds, and disulphide bonds. Hydrogen bonds change your hair shape temporarily and can be affected by moisture and heat, hence frizzy hair on humid days and curling or straightening with flat irons. Disulphide bonds are very strong and maintain a permanent shape, unless you break them apart with chemicals.
Japanese permanent hair straightening uses a chemical to break apart those bonds. The stylist then straightens the hair with an iron, setting the shape you what your hair to maintain, and then reseals the bonds with another chemical, permanently locking your hair into that new shape.
This salon in particular also adds a treatment to the hair before resealing it to keep it as moisturized, soft, and silky as possible.
You're not supposed to do it if your hair has been dyed a lot since it can damage the hair, so not everyone is able to get this type of straight perm. Before this I had only ever done one salon treatment, never colored my hair, and very rarely even straightened or blow dried it. But my frizz was crazy! I've had exactly zero issues with frizz in the two months since getting the straight perm.
You can also choose levels of how straight you want your hair to be. Since I have bangs I wanted those to look more natural rather than be perfectly straight, so they didn't apply the full strength treatment there.
I am still able to do some temporary hair curling (via those hydrogen bonds), although it really doesn't stay for any significant length of time at all. If I let me hair dry in a braid it will still come out a bit wavy, but not as wavy as before, and it doesn't last as long. And since I do tuck my hair behind my ears almost all the time, the little wispy hair there now retains that behind-the-ear curl shape.
If you're curious about the chemistry behind how this works, here are some links explaining it more in depth!
