Koldinghus Castle Kolding Denmark - Museum Review
A Quick Video Tour of Koldinghus Castle, a Danish Royal Castle at Kolding, Jutland, Denmark.
Koldinghus is a Danish royal castle in the town of Kolding on the south central part of the Jutland peninsula. The castle was founded in the 13th century and was expanded since with many functions ranging from fortress, royal residency, ruin, museum, and the location of numerous wartime negotiations.
The castle was originally founded by Christoffer I in 1268 but the oldest remaining part of buildings is the north side facing the castle lake originally built by king Christoffer III (1441–1448). The western side was later built by king Christian I (1448–1481). King Christian III built the south side and the small towers in the courtyard.
Today the restored castle functions as a museum containing collections of furniture from the 16th century to present, Roman and Gothic church culture, older Danish paintings, crafts focused on ceramics and silver and shifting themed exhibitions.

Koldinghus was built in 1268 and was for many years one of Denmark’s most important royal catsles. In 1808 a fire left the castle in ruins as a romantic relic. Today the castle has been restored and houses a museum.

Walking In Kolding, Denmark: Filming Around The Koldinghus Castle
Welcome to my viewers in the United States, Canada, Denmark and around the world. Koldinghus is only a few hundred meters from the city center and the church (they form a sort of triangle between them). The botanical garden of Geografisk Have does require either a short bus ride or walk (appx. 5km or 3 miles).
Kolding also has quite a big swimming facility, Slotssøbadet, which is located only a few hundred meters from Koldinghus Castle
With a population of 90,066 (1 January 2014), the Kolding municipality is the seventh largest in Denmark. The city itself has a population of 58,021 (1 January 2014)[2] and is also the seventh largest city in Denmark.
The city is part of the Triangle Region, which includes the neighboring cities of Fredericia and Vejle.

Walking In Kolding, Denmark: From The Library To The City Hall
To my viewers in the United States and around the world, welcome to my Youtube channel. My name is Roderick Balenda; I am making a series of videos about different cities in different countries; this time, it is Denmark, and I am now in Kolding, which is Denmark's 7th largest city. Kolding does not have a very big train yard (2 tracks), but trains to Aarhus and Copenhagen leaves at least once every hour. If not, the 2nd-largest train station of the country in Fredericia has a train departing for Kolding every 10- or 20 minutes.
By car: When following the E45 motorway (mid-Juttish motorway), follow motorway exit 62, which should take you directly in to the city at ease.
By plane: The nearest big commercial airport near Kolding is Billund (2nd-largest of Denmark). From Billund, either take an Airport Taxi or a bus to Kolding (both easily found. If you can't find one, take a bus to Fredericia and then take the train to Kolding (the personnel will happily help you on your way). Because most of Kolding's sites are very centralized to the center of the city (Church of St. Nicholas, Koldinghus, Geografisk Have), most travelers won't have to do much traveling once the city's been reached. I have lived in Kolding for ten years: from 2004 to 2014 before I went to Canada.
