The fantastic roads of Spiti Valley ???? Sometimes you hate them, sometimes you love them, sometimes you talk about how Corruption has eaten our country & sometimes you forget about everything, That's the beauty of Spiti Valley's roads.
They are not the best roads of India nor the worst, but one of the most extreme ones.
The high altitude villages of Spiti valley have a character of their own. The people have a simple but hard lifestyle. The Spitian way of life is totally in sync with the terrain’s unforgiving geography and weather.
Kye Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 metres (13,668 ft) above sea level, close to the Spiti River, in the Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, Lahaul and Spiti district, India.
It is the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for Lamas. It reportedly had 100 monks in 1855.

World's Highest Post Office & Restaurant | KAZA TO -LANGZA - KOMIC - HIKKIM | SPITI ADVENTURE2018
LANGZA :- Nestled between the mountains in a bowl shaped area in the Spiti Valley is a small remote village named Langza. This village is situated at an altitude of 14,500 feet above sea level in the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh in northern India.
Langza is also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road. Owing to its proximity to Tibet in China, the population of the village is predominantly Buddhist and belongs to the Sakyapa sect of Tibetian Buddhism. The village has a population of about 137 people living in 33 houses.
Langza is divided into two sections; Langza Yongma (Lower) and Langza Gongma (Upper). The main occupation of the villagers in the olden days was mud craft. This art prevails in the village to this day. Vessels of all shapes and sizes are produced and sold all across the country. Agriculture is another major occupation in this village. Crops such as rice and potatoes are cultivated here.

KOMIC :- Famed as the highest motorable village in Asia, Komic in Spiti Valley is placed at an altitude of 5150 m above the sea level. The village has around a dozen houses, one monastery and a population of around 150, including the monks. The place has been blessed by unspoilt scenery, lush surroundings, snow-covered peaks, and barren landscapes.
Komic monastery is the main attractions here. It is built on the top of a small hill. As you climb up, you see the colorful flags fluttering rapidly. Do the views of the surroundings are wonderful Stay here till sunset to savor wonderful sights. Komic only as a homestay as accommodation with only 2-3 rooms.
During the winter season (November to March), the village is cut from the rest of the civilization due to heavy snow and not having roads. The temperatures can fall below minus 30 degree Celsius. At that time, the only mode of transportation is a yak. The nearest school is an hour away, and there is lack of daily necessities. But, in spite of all these difficulties, the villagers are helpful, happy and friendly.

HIKKIM :- Hikkim is a village in Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh state in northern India. It is near to the Kaza location. It is one of the highest year-round inhabited locations in India, with residences from 4330 to 4400 meters. Komic village two km to the southeast has residences up to 4520 meters, and Korzok village on Tso Moriri has year-round residences to 4570 meters. Most of the people are Buddhists. The region remains cut off from other regions for half the year due to heavy snow fall over the passes. People use stones extensively to build houses and structures. Tangyud gompa Monastery is located near to this location.
This location is credited as World's highest polling station. It is recorded in the Limca Book of Records also.
The location is also credited to have the World's highest post office. The Pin code is 172114.
The location appeared in the Wanderlust photo of the year for the year 2009.

This day of our ride we rode from KIBBER to KAZA but in between we have visited key key monastery and we were so lucky that day there were key annual festival. We spent entire day at Key monastery. At end of the day rain come. And we reached hotel fully wet but the hotel at kaza is like one of the best hotel (Hotel Deyzor, Phone: 094184 02660) that we stayed in entire journey.

World’s Highest Post Office In Spiti Valley
Great experience to be at the highest post office in the world. Hikkim is a small village 1hr uphill run from kaza but the roads are extremely dangerous and almost impossible during the rainy season. The village is completely cutoff from rest of the world during the winter season. We were lucky to meet the post master of hikkim post office even after office timing. He is very soft spoken humble man.

Spiti Valley EP 8 | Tangyud Monastery | Komic | Highest Village in the World
During our Spiti valley trip, we reached Komic near KAZA which is highest village in the world connected with motorable road . Here is a Buddhist monastery called Tangyud monastery which has a very unique Buddhism practice Tantric Buddhism . I was not aware of this kind of practice in Buddhism so this was a surprise for me when accidentally I entered in a dark room Mahakala in this monastery . There was a stuffed snow leopard hanging in the ceiling of the room. Some weird masks were making atmosphere really frightening.

We did a wonderful trip of Spiti Valley in mid Oct 2019. We started from Delhi on 12 Oct 2019. In this 9 days trip, we visited Nako, Gue,Tabo, Lari Village, Dhankar, Dhankar Lake , Lalung Village, Kaza, Tashigong, Kibbar, Chicham, Chicham Bridge , Hikkim, Komic, Langza, Mud Village (Pin Valley ) and Sarhan . We tried for Camping near Tabo but Army didn't allow us .
I am trying to share my overall experience with all of you through my videos .

This clip is from my recent Winter spiti 2018 ride.
We were staying in kaza that was a hectic day driving through langza,hikkim & komic resting at our home stay in kaza and snowing outside temperature was around -20 to -25 and it was around 7pm when i decided to go to key monastery which was around 12km from kaza but my buddies din't agree up on me after a lot of chat enfield guy said alright lets go so i was having some battery issues with my bike so i took the gixer and had a wonderfull ride till key monestery it was fine till key but when returning snow strom came and it was really hard to get back to kaza. Zero visibilty total darkness black ice on roads.
