In Raigad district, a beach is situated known as Aravi beach. This beach is not as much known as other beaches in Maharashtra, but still tourists visiting Raigad can plan a visit to this beach and enjoy their summer vacations amidst nature’s bounties. This secluded beach is stretched out and consists of a soft layer of white sand too. Moreover, it is a dynamic beach, and it is a better option to visit this beach when visiting Raigad region. Also, this beach serves great outstanding and panoramic views. It contains two hillocks on both sides or at either ends. These hillocks provide the look of a fabled lost paradise. Being a secluded cove Aravi beach even offer great and splendid views, the sun set, and the sun rise are majorly enjoyed. This beach Aravi even inhabits various aquatic lives. Dolphins are seen in abundance and even at the sides or shores of the Aravi beach.

Aaravi Beach

Aaravi is a small stretch of beach tucked away from everything located between Shrivardhan and Diveagar on the coastal highway connecting Harihareshwar to Diveagar. Aaravi is a stretch of beach which can be visited during a sightseeing trip from Harihareshwar to Diveagar or Murud .

Located in the Konkan coast of Maharashtra, Diveagar is a famous beachside village, which is at a distance of approximately 5 km from Shrivardhan. The village is situated in the Raigad District, which is densely covered with betel nut and coconut trees.

Characteristic of white sand and crystal clear water, this beach is surrounded by Suru trees, which are rarely found on this coast. There is a fishing settlement located at one end of the beach, while the other end houses a sanctuary of migratory seagulls.

The village also houses a temple, which is another major attraction in the destination. Dedicated to Lord Ganesha, the temple has an idol, which has a mask made of pure gold. This mask was found by Draupadi Dharma Patil on 17th November 1997, while she was digging in her betel nut farm. She found a copper box in the farm which contained the gold mask of Lord Ganesha. Two other major attractions are the Sundernarayan Temple and the Suvarnaganesha Temple.

The nearest airport is the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, located in Mumbai, at a distance of approximately 200 km from the village.

October to December is the ideal time to visit the beach destination.

The hills have a temple dating back to the 16 century with idols of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwara. It also has temples dedicated to godess Parvati, Shri Kalbhairav and Shri Yogeshwari. The river Savitri flow through Harihareshwar town to meet the Arabian Sea close by. Harihareshwar is 200 kms away from Mumbai and is a serene, calm scenic town perched on the Konkan border in Maharashtra.

Harihareshwar is home to a 16th century Shiva temple in which the presiding deities are the Trimurti: Brahma, Visnu and Mahesh, with Devi Parvati. The Trimurti are represented here in linga form, or triple linga. Harihareshwar, was a prominent site during the reign of the Peshwas, and Hari Hareshwar was the family deity of the Peshwas, thus giving it a place of importance in Maratha history. Historical evidence shows that Ramabai, Senior Madhavrao Peshwe's queen visited here to worship Hari Hareshwar, praying for the good health of her ailing husband. The town is surrounded by four holy hills, which represent Visnu, Brahma, Siva, and Parvati: Kalbhairav Temple in Harihareshwar is one of the ancient renowned temples in Maharashtra. Kalabhairava, a lord of all manthrasastras, is also placed as one of the idols. Legends associated with the temple say that Lord Shiva created Kalabhairava and blessed him with all manthras.
The architectural style of the temple is attractive. Temple Yogeshwari known as Dakshin Kashi is located in the premises. Cool breeze from the Harihareshwar beach makes the temple premises a nice place to relax as well. It looks amazing from the fort as one side you have the mighty Arabian Sea and on the other hand you have resilient Sahydri Hills. And in the middle of these two giants Janjira fort stands from past 900 years. This video is captured from my 5MP shooter LG Optimus 7. I wish I could have shoot this video in 720p.
