The Königssee is a natural lake in the extreme southeast Berchtesgadener Land district of the German state of Bavaria, near the Austrian border. Most of the lake is within the Berchtesgaden National Park.
Germany's Most Beautiful Lake: Lake Konigsee in Berchtesgaden, Bavaria
The following video will highlight the wonderful boat tour on Lake Konigsee in Bavaria, Germany. This lake happens to be Germany's cleanest lake.
The boat tours are really affordable and the day is just truly blissful and relaxing. It takes 30 minutes to get to St. Bartholoma and another 30 min to get to Salet.
Lake Obersee is another 20min hike from the stop at Salet. The hike is flat and really easy to do.
We visited Berchtesgaden National Park towards the middle and October, it was only a week before they stopped running the boats all the way to the end of Salet. So make sure to check out the timetables for your visit.
The weather was cool, so good idea to bring some layers of clothes as well. It was pretty chilly on the boats on the way back in the late afternoon.

BERCHTESGADEN || Königssee, Jenner & Almbachklamm
A trip to Berchtesgaden in Bavaria. Berchtesgaden is one of the most beautiful places in Germany. The Königssee surrounded by all the mountains is absolutly stunning to watch. In our 5 day trip we had this perfect sunny day with the beatufil view from the Jenner mountain over the Königssee. In the background you can see the second highest mountain in Germany the Watzmann with around 2700m of hight. We also went to the Kehlsteinhaus at the Obersalzberg, unfortunately the weather was to bad to film at that day. On our third day we went hiking in the Almbachklamm, never seen such a beautiful canyon.

The world famous landmark of Königssee, the Sanctuary of St. Bartholomew is only accessible by boat (electric boats). With a length of 8 kilometers, max. 1.2 km width and a depth of 192 meters, the water temperature remains relatively cool even in midsummer. Around the lake there are many great hiking and climbing opportunities for all levels.

Driving experience on autobahn in Germany. Interstate highway in Germany is called 'Autobahn' and we don't have to pay to use that highway. Starting point of this footage was in A99 - Rastanlage Vaterstetten West, end point was in Parkplatz - Schönau am Königssee.

We went to see Konigssee lake in Berchtesgaden NP and it was amazing. The mist over king lake which is what königsee means, was haunting. We took an electric boat along the thin deep clean lake, which is one of the cleanest lakes in Germany, and heard the echos of fluglehorn on the walls. We arrived at St. Barholomew's and proceeded to climb into the mountains in search of the eis kappel or ice chapel while listening to the rumble of avalanches above us. Finn was less than thrilled with that but we all persevered and the glacial cave was stunning.

Nach der herrlichen Wanderung am Malerwinkel Rundweg entlang, kommen wir an der Jennerbahn und an dem Restaurant Jennerkaser vorbei. Schöne Eindrücke zum genießen. Danach fahren wir nach Berchtesgaden und sehen uns die Innenstadt an. Bei einem fantastischen und sehr leckeren Eisbecher im La Fontana lassen wir es uns gut gehen. Berchtesgaden ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert. Eine wunderschöne kleine Stadt mit einer malerischen Fußgängerzone, vielen schönen Plätzen und interessante Sehenswürdigkeiten. Am Abend geht´s wieder zurück nach Schönau am Königssee. Ein leckeres Abendessen mit genialer Pasta und Pizza in der Pizzeria Salento wartet auf uns. Es war wie immer einfach hervorragend! Die besten Grüße an Adriana und Francesco! Wir freuen uns schon auf´s nächste mal! Am nächsten Morgen ist der Himmel wolkenverhangen, aber auch das hat am Königssee seinen Reiz. Sehr früh machen wir uns auf zur Seelände, der Anlegestelle am See und fahren mit dem Schiff in Richtung St. Bartholomä. Was uns dort alles erwartet, seht Ihr dann im 3. Teil, wenn Ihr Lust darauf habt. Es geht auf eine abenteuerliche Wanderung, die mit einem tollen Natur Highlight endet...bis dann, ciao

Berchtesgaden, Königssee - Germany 2012
Berchtesgaden (German pronunciation: [bɛʁçtəsˈɡaːdən]) is a municipality in the German Bavarian Alps. It is located in the south district of Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria, near the border with Austria, some 30 km south of Salzburg and 180 km southeast of Munich. To the south of the city the Berchtesgaden National Park stretches along three parallel valleys.
Berchtesgaden is often associated with the Watzmann, at 2,713 m the third-highest mountain in Germany (after Zugspitze and Hochwanner), which is renowned in the rock climbing community for its Ostwand (East Face), and a deep glacial lake by the name of Königssee (5.2 km²). Another notable peak is the Kehlstein mountain (1,835 m) with its Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest), which offers spectacular views to its visitors.

Der Königssee ist ein langgestreckter Gebirgssee im Berchtesgadener Land im Südosten Bayerns und gehört zur Gemeinde Schönau am Königssee. Er liegt am östlichen Fuß des Watzmanns und wird im Wesentlichen durch den vom südöstlich gelegenen Obersee kommenden Saletbach gespeist. Da der Königssee zwischen steilen Berghängen eingebettet ist, wird er als fjordartig beschrieben; er gilt der Wasserqualität nach außerdem als einer der saubersten Seen Deutschlands.

Königssee village near Berchtesgaden, Germany
Situated within the Berchtesgaden Alps in the municipality of Schönau am Königsee, just south of Berchtesgaden, one finds the village and lake Königssee. The village clearly exists because of the tourist trade to Germany's third deepest lake. Once connected via the Königssee Railway (Königsseebahn), the service stopped running after 56 years in 1965 and all one can see of it today is the station which houses a restaurant and a museum to locally born international film star Romy Schneider. From the village, one sets out on walks through the national park or on boat trips across the lake.
