We have been blessed with the beauty of konkan, tall coconut trees and unfathomable sea shore, Kokan is a rugged section of the western coastline of India. It is a 720 kilometres (450 miles) long coastline.
Konkan extends throughout the western coasts of Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka. It is bounded by the Western Ghats mountain range (also known as Sahyadri) in the east, the Arabian Sea in the west, the Mayura River in the north and the Gangavalli River in the south.

The Konkan Railway is a subsidiary zone of the Indian Railways. It is one of the 17 zones of the Indian Railways but without any divisional structure unlike other railways zones in India. It is operated by Konkan Railway Corporation, headquartered at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The first passenger train ran on Konkan railway tracks on 20 March 1993 between Udupi and Mangalore.] During its initial years of operation in the mountainous Konkan region, a spate of accidents prompted Konkan Railway to investigate new technologies. The anti-collision devices, the Sky Bus and RORO are a few of the innovations from Konkan Railway.It was the missing link between Mumbai, Maharashtra and Mangalore, Karnataka and further to the south western coastal cities of India. The 741 km (461 mi) line connects Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka states in India. The first train on the completed track was flagged off on January 26, 1998, the Republic Day of India.
This section is best Viewed During Monsoon Time.. As the Climate and the Section Both Are a visual Treat to Anyone! .

Dapoli Vlog | Konkan India | Maharashtra
Dapoli is a part of Konkan coast of Maharashtra and it's not so overrated & hyped like other Indian beach cities but it's a place of absolute serenity and bliss, a perfect destination for detoxification and this is what my entire family was seeking for.
And wifi is literally weak over here which actually made me absorb the place to the fullest.

Sometime in December 2018, I had to ride Faith (my Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500) back to Chennai from Pune. Since the weather was good, I decided to take the long way back, first heading West to find the Konkan Coast near Dapoli. From there I rode down towards Goa on the famous Maharashtra State Highway 4. I caught some breathtaking views and discovered some interesting routes along the way.
Thanks to Dr Sunil, who I met along the way, I also ended up taking some beautiful side roads in Southern Maharashtra and seeing places that I'd missed on previous trips through this part of the country.
The fact that this was a solo ride with my trusted Faith made it all the more sweet!

Konkan Railways are best known for its engineering - passing through the fragile hills, crossing many rivers that are in a rush to meet the sea and many sandy beaches. However, it is one of the most scenic routes that you can see from a train. The innumerable tunnels take you into darkness only to bring you out to the sight of waterfalls.
You see the vast stretches of green and backwaters.
Highly recommended to take a ride on Konkan Railway.

The different rows of sheds sell items like vegetables, fruits, utensils, bakery products, domestic materials etc .The fish market here will offer a variety of fish in much cheaper rates. You can also enjoy the local maharashtrian streetfood and snacks. These markets are also known as Haats or Mandai in some places.

First we went to the Murud Janjira Beach in afternoon, ticket there for the ferry ride to the fort is Rs. 21 for child and Rs. 61 for adult.

After that we went to Patil Hotel, one of the famous hotels over there for Fish Thali. Fish thali in Murud Area wil cost around Rs. 200 to 300
Next stop was at Nandgaon Beach. Nandgaon is one of the pleasant beach with no rush. One can have peace over there. There are few people there. Nandgaon is 8 km away from Murud Janjira and also 8 km away from Kashid Beach.

Kochuveli railway station, is a satellite passenger rail terminal of Thiruvananthapuram city in the Indian state of Kerala. It is being developed to ease congestion at Thiruvananthapuram Central station.[2] The Kochuveli railway station is located towards the north of the city, approximately at a distance of 8 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram city. The Kochuveli railway station is located near to NH47 Trivandrum City bypass.
The Railway Station was opened in 2005. The station has two entrances Eastern Side and Western Side. The Eastern side has the satellite terminal from where the trains originating from Kochuveli operates and the old railway station is situated on the western side. Currently 11 long distance express trains and 1 passenger train operates from this station. Kochuveli railway station connects passengers to important cities of India. Many trains now functioning from Trivandrum Central including the Sabari Express will commence the journey from Kochuveli railway station once the station is completely developed. Kochuveli railway station also caters to special trains during rush seasons.The common special trains from here are to New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bilaspur, Yeshwanthpur, Dadar, New Tinsukia, Santragachi and Chennai.

Kochuveli railway station is situated at a distance of 1.2 km from NH 47 Kazhakootam -Kovalam bypass road and 8 km from Thampanoor. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation is currently operating Low Floor AC feeder bus from Kochuveli terminal to Trivandrum city for the benefit of long distance passengers. The buses are operated from the station at selected timings based on train arrivals. The nearest bus stop in NH 47 Kazhakootam -Kovalam bypass road is World Market Junction from which commuters can avail the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses towards various places in Trivandrum city and Kazhakootam.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) formerly known as Victoria Terminus is a historic railway station and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. The station has been designed by Frederick William Stevens according to the concept of Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and meant to be a similar revival of Indian Goth (classical era) architecture. The station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Mumbai to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station has been built where the Bori Bunder railway station[3] once stood. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India,[4] serving as a terminal for both long-distance trains and commuter trains. The station's name was changed from Victoria Terminus (with code BB) to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (with code CSTM) in March 1996 in honour of Emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji, founder of the Maratha Empire. In 2017, the station was again renamed Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (with code CSMT).

CST has a total of 18 platforms – seven platforms are for suburban trains and eleven platforms (Platform 8 to Platform 18) are for inter city trains. Duranto, Garib Rath and Tejas Express leaves from Platform 18.[14] Air-conditioned dormitories were inaugurated at CST on 16 April 2013. The facility has 58 beds for men and 20 for women.
Suburban network
The network of commuter or suburban trains (locally known as locals, short for local trains) radiating out from this station is instrumental in keeping Mumbai running. The station serves as a terminus for long-distance trains as well as two of the suburban lines, the Central Line and the Harbour line.

The station has been the location of filming the Jai Ho song in Slumdog Millionaire;[16] and Ra.One.[17]
The station was heavily featured on the BBC Two show World's Busiest Railway 2015.
