11085/11086 Mumbai LTT - Madgaon AC Double Decker Express is a Double Decker train of Indian Railways, which is the first of its type to be introduced. It is accommodated with latest stainless steel LHB Coaches. It links Mumbai and Madgaon, an important town in Goa.
The 11085/11086 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Madgaon AC Double Decker Express as of 2015 had 6 AC Chair Car & 2 EOG cars. As with most train services in India, coach composition may be amended depending on demand.
The 11085/11086 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus - Madgaon AC Double Decker Express was first introduced on 7 December 2015. As of 2015 it ran thrice a week.
It covers the distance of 750 kilometres in 12 hours as 11085Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Madgaon AC Double Decker Express (47 km/hr) & 12 hours as 11086 Madgaon Lokmanya Tilak Terminus AC Double Decker Express (47 km/hr). With maximum speed of 100 km/hr.
It has been hauled by a WDG-3A engine from the Kalyan shed.
The Konkan Railway (abbreviated KR and कोरे) is a subsidiary zone of the Indian Railways. It is one of the 17 zones of the Indian Railways but without any divisional structure unlike other railways zones in India. It is operated by Konkan Railway Corporation Limited, headquartered at CBD Belapur in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The first passenger train ran on Konkan railway tracks on 20 March 1993 between Udupi and Mangalore.[1] During its initial years of operation in the mountainous Konkan region, a spate of accidents prompted Konkan Railway to investigate new technologies. The anti-collision devices, the Sky Bus and RORO are a few of the innovations from Konkan Railway.[2] It was the missing link between Mumbai, Maharashtra and Mangalore, Karnataka and the southwestern coastal cities of India. The 741 km (461 mi) line connects Maharashtra, Goa and Karnataka states in India. The first train on the completed track was flagged off on January 26, 1998, the Republic Day of India.
The route became quite popular with passengers from the day it was opened, due to the connectivity it provided to regions hitherto inaccessible by rail, as well as the substantial savings in time for commuters between western and southern India. Several trains, which earlier took circuitous routes were diverted via the Konkan Railway, leading to a reduction in running time. The first of these was the Mumbai - Mangaluru Netravati Express later extended to Trivandrum, which was diverted via the Konkan Railway from 1 March 1998, followed by the Trivandrum Rajdhani from 1 April 1998.[21] The Matsyaganda Express running from Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Mangalore was flagged off on 1 May 1998.[18] The Hazrat Nizamuddin - Mangalore Mangala Lakshadweep Express was diverted on the route from 1 August 1998 and extended to Ernakulam Junction.[22] The Pune-Ernakulam Junction Express was introduced on 25 February 1999.[23] Another train called Marusagar Express, which runs between Jaipur and Ernakulam Junction (Now extended till Ajmer) via the Konkan Railway began its service on 12 October 2001.[24] The Jan Shatabdi Express was flagged off between Mumbai and Madgaon (longest running Jan Shatabdi)on 16 April 2002, to commemorate 150 years of the existence of Indian Railways.[25][26] On 1 February 2008, a Garib Rath between Kochuveli satellite station of Thiruvananthapuram and Lokmanya Tilak Terminus was flagged off.
In 2009 Mumbai–Karwar tri-weekly Super Fast express was introduced. Within a year it was extended to Mangalore Junction railway station and ran daily. In 2011 Pune–Ernakulam Super Fast express via Panvel was introduced on bi-weekly basis. In 2012, a train from Sawantwadi To Dadar was launched, named as Rajya Rani Express, Now known as Tutari Express.[citation needed]
Tejas Express is India’s first semi-high speed full AC train fleet introduced by Indian Railways, featuring newer modern on-board facilities. The inaugural run of Tejas Express was on 24 May 2017 from Mumbai CST to Karmali, Goa. It covered 551.7 km in 8 hours and 30 minutes.

Kochuveli railway station, is a satellite passenger rail terminal of Thiruvananthapuram city in the Indian state of Kerala. It is being developed to ease congestion at Thiruvananthapuram Central station.[2] The Kochuveli railway station is located towards the north of the city, approximately at a distance of 8 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram city. The Kochuveli railway station is located near to NH47 Trivandrum City bypass.
The Railway Station was opened in 2005. The station has two entrances Eastern Side and Western Side. The Eastern side has the satellite terminal from where the trains originating from Kochuveli operates and the old railway station is situated on the western side. Currently 11 long distance express trains and 1 passenger train operates from this station. Kochuveli railway station connects passengers to important cities of India. Many trains now functioning from Trivandrum Central including the Sabari Express will commence the journey from Kochuveli railway station once the station is completely developed. Kochuveli railway station also caters to special trains during rush seasons.The common special trains from here are to New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bilaspur, Yeshwanthpur, Dadar, New Tinsukia, Santragachi and Chennai.

Kochuveli railway station is situated at a distance of 1.2 km from NH 47 Kazhakootam -Kovalam bypass road and 8 km from Thampanoor. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation is currently operating Low Floor AC feeder bus from Kochuveli terminal to Trivandrum city for the benefit of long distance passengers. The buses are operated from the station at selected timings based on train arrivals. The nearest bus stop in NH 47 Kazhakootam -Kovalam bypass road is World Market Junction from which commuters can avail the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation buses towards various places in Trivandrum city and Kazhakootam.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) formerly known as Victoria Terminus is a historic railway station and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India which serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. The station has been designed by Frederick William Stevens according to the concept of Victorian Italianate Gothic Revival architecture and meant to be a similar revival of Indian Goth (classical era) architecture. The station was built in 1887 in the Bori Bunder area of Mumbai to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The new railway station has been built where the Bori Bunder railway station[3] once stood. It is one of the busiest railway stations in India,[4] serving as a terminal for both long-distance trains and commuter trains. The station's name was changed from Victoria Terminus (with code BB) to Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (with code CSTM) in March 1996 in honour of Emperor Chhatrapati Shivaji, founder of the Maratha Empire. CST has a total of 18 platforms – seven platforms are for suburban trains and eleven platforms (Platform 8 to Platform 18) are for inter city trains. Duranto, Garib Rath and Tejas Express leaves from Platform 18.[14] Air-conditioned dormitories were inaugurated at CST on 16 April 2013. The facility has 58 beds for men and 20 for women.

The network of commuter or suburban trains (locally known as locals, short for local trains) radiating out from this station is instrumental in keeping Mumbai running. The station serves as a terminus for long-distance trains as well as two of the suburban lines, the Central Line and the Harbour line.

Full Journey on Konkan Railways from Trivandrum Rajdhani: Goa-Mumbai
Presenting the second part of a full journey from the Konkan Railways captured aboard the Trivandrum Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express. Enjoy the Rajdhani's passage from Goa to Mumbai along coastal Maharashtra. This area is dryer than coastal Karnataka, particularly pre-monsoon. There are much less rivers but a lot more tunnels and tall viaducts. The major highlights captured here are the crossings of the magnificent Mandovi and Zuari rivers in Goa, the Panval viaduct before Ratnagiri (Asia's second tallest viaduct), the amazing station of Ukshi, located between two rock cuttings and half the station inside a tunnel, and a number of crossings with the Mandovi Express, Mumbai Madgaon Jan Shatabdi, Nethravathi and Mangala Lakshadweep Express, and in the evening, around Mumbai, the Ahmedabad Chennai Express and the Rajkot Secunderabad Express with its twin Alcos.

Tejas Express is a semi high-speed train fleet introduced by Indian Railways, featuring newer modern on-board facilities. The Tejas Express launched in 2017. The coaches are manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala. The newly designed coaches are capable of running at a speed of 200 km/h (120 mph), but due to constraints imposed by rail tracks these coaches will run at a speed of 160 km/h (99 mph).
The first rake comprising 20 coaches including sixteen non-executive and two executive chair cars besides one power coach was handed over to the Northern Railway on May 15. Coaches have bio-vacuum toilets, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, integrated braille displays, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, WiFi, tea and coffee vending machines, magazines, snack tables, CCTV cameras, fire & smoke detection and suppression system. The fares will be 20% to 30% more than Shatabdi fares.The Tejas Express has redesigned seats with e-leather. There are 14 non-executive chair cars and they can seat up to 72 passengers each (3+2) configuration. The coaches have energy-efficient LED lights and digital destination display boards. The new train has two executive chair cars (in 2+2 configuration). The executive chair cars have a seating capacity of 56 passengers and adjustable head-rests, arm support and leg support. Leg support is not available in non-executive chair cars. The central table in the Tejas Express also has infotainment screens. Equipped with soap dispensers, touch-less water taps, odour-control systems and occupancy indicators, the toilets in Tejas Express have been designed with modern standards in mind. In line with Indian Railways vision to make tracks defecation free, Indian Railways has installed bio-vaccum toilets in Tejas Express. This would also ensure that as against normal toilets that need 10 litres of water per flush, only 1.5 litres of water would be consumed. All doors are centrally controlled.

Mangalore to Mumbai Via Konkan Railways: Goa Rajdhani and Mangalore Madgaon Intercity
Presenting highlights from a full journey between Mangalore and Bombay undertaken over 2 days aboard the Mangalore Madgaon Intercity Express and the Goa Rajdhani, with a full coverage of Konkan Railways from Mangalore, right up to Veer. On the first day, enjoy the lovely scenery between Udupi and Bhatkal, past the Mookambika wildlife sanctuary, the sprawling Sharavathi and Kali rivers, and the lush green Western ghats along the border between Karnataka and Goa.
On day 2, we explore the northern Konkan, encountering the Zuari and Mandovi rivers, and then negotiating numerous tunnels between Kankavli and Chiplun as the route weaves a passage through the Western ghats. The evening concludes with a lovely sunset across the western ghats.
The journey on the first day was undertaken aboard the Mangalore Madgaon Intercity - a lovely quiet train, ideal for train lovers. The locomotive doing the honours was an Ernakulam WDM3A. On day two, it was twin Ratlam WDM3As powering the Goa Rajdhani.

1. Kalyan WDG3A with the Mumbai Mangalore Superfast Rocket
2. Ernakulam WDM3A twins with the Gandhidham Nagercoil Express

Fantastic Konkan Railway Journey - Goa to Mumbai on board the Double Decker A.C. Express
A full coverage of a fabulous day time journey done on the Konkan Railway - which is one of India’s most beautiful railway routes. It is a 1 hour long video, so you can either watch it when you are really free, or you can watch it in bits and pieces also, but you will cherish every bit of it.
The journey was done by me last Saturday from Goa to Mumbai on board one of the most colourful trains as well - the 11086 Madgaon - Mumbai LTT Double Decker A.C. Express.
I took over 70 videos and 100 photos on that journey, I had a seat on the upper deck but I sat in my seat for only 2 hours of the 12 and a half hour journey. The rest of the time I was standing at the door enjoying mother nature’s beauty as well as getting impressed by the massive bridges and tunnels of the Konkan Railway. This railway line, built along the coastline, and in the midst of the Western Ghats of India, is through difficult terrain and there are a vast number of bridges and tunnels to go across valleys and through mountains. It is really a great engineering feat of Indian construction. To add to it, the maximum permissible speed of the line is 120 km/hr and it has been tested upto 160 km/hr as well. This speed on such terrain is not a joke.
The journey includes various different perspectives and views. It includes crossings and overtakes of other trains. Since it is a single line, many times we were made to wait for other trains to cross, including the premium trains like the Rajdhani Express, Tejas Express and Jan-Shatabdi Express. It also includes photographs of the Double Decker train at stations. You can also have a look as we speed on the bridges and rush into tunnels, especially as we go over the tallest viaduct - Panval River viaduct - of which the tallest pillar is 64 meters high, as well as we enter the longest tunnel - Karbude Tunnel - which is 6.5 km long!!! Lastly there are also some beautiful curves, and a speedy run in suburban Mumbai, racing with some local trains. I have also included the interiors of the train (the upper deck) in this video compilation.
We left Madgaon station bang on time at 5:30 in the morning but were made to wait for a overtake at the very next station and got delayed by 45 minutes already. Further on, made to wait for more crossings the delay went up to an hour. But finally after crossing Veer station, there seemed to be an increase in the speed and we raced through the plains and started making up solid time, in the end arriving 25 minutes before time at Mumbai LTT - at 6:05 pm. It was indeed a fabulous journey and I enjoyed every bit of it. I took so many videos to ensure that my viewers can enjoy it too.

RORO Train | Trucks on RAIL | Best of KONKAN Railways
Beauty of Single line Konkan Railway RORO Trains ,Trucks on Rails is one of the most unique Service that is only offered by the Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) since 1998. RORO means Roll-on/roll-off, where loaded trucks are directly carried by railway wagons to their destination. Konkan Railways passes through tough terrains of India. There is NH-17 passing through same route. Truck drivers find it extremely difficult to drive loaded trucks through ghats, undulating surfaces, narrow roads and poor road and weather conditions. The KRC came with concept of RORO, where loaded trucks are moved on wagons and are traveled by train. This has helped in saving of fuels, decrease in wear and tear of lorries (trucks), relief to drivers of driving in extreme conditions, can reach faster to destination. This also helps in decongestion of roads and lowering of pollution. This concept has been beneficial for both truck operators and KRCL.

The KR line also sees a good number of freight trains how ever their main highlight is the Roll on – Roll off (RORO) Service offered for transporting Trucks over Rails. Presently KR is the only Zone offering such a Service in India . The service is available from Kolad (145 kms. from Mumbai), Verna (12 kms. from Madgaon) upto Surathkal (20 kms. from Mangalore) and vice-versa.

KRMI/Karmali -- CSMT/Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus
Mumbai CSMT - Karmali Tejas Express is one of India’s semi-high speed full AC train fleet introduced by Indian Railways connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Maharashtra and Karmali in Goa. It is currently being operated with 22119/22120 train numbers on five days a week basis but during Monsoon season the train will run thrice a week.
The coaches are manufactured at the Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala.
There are 14 non-executive chair cars and they can seat up to 78 passengers each (3+2) configuration and two executive chair cars (in 2+2 configuration). The executive chair cars have a seating capacity of 56 passengers and adjustable head-rests, arm support and leg support. All doors are centrally controlled.
It is designed by Indian Railways with features of LED screen display to show information about stations, train speed etc. and will have announcement system as well, Vending machines for tea, coffee and milk, Bio toilets in compartments as well as CCTV cameras, water level indicators, tap sensors, hand dryers, integrated braille displays, LED TV for each passenger with phone sockets, local cuisine, celebrity chef menu, WiFi, tea and coffee vending machines, magazines, snack tables, fire & smoke detection and suppression system.
Onboard catering service charges are included in the fare. If the passengers do not wish to avail it at the time of booking and want to purchase meals on board, they will have to pay Rs 50 extra per service.
It averages 53 km/hr as 22119 Tejas Express starts five days a week on Monday and Thursday covering 524 km in 10 hrs 30 mins & 51 km/hr as 22120 Tejas Express starts five days a week on Monday and Thursday and covering 552 km in 10 hrs 45 mins.
The train runs at an average speed of 130 km/h (81 mph) but is allowed to touch 180 km/h (110 mph) on some sections.
This train was hauled by two Kalyan Based WDM 3A from Mumbai to Karmali. Now twin WDM-3Ds have been replaced with KYN WDP-3A (ex-shed: Golden Rock (GOC) of SR division), specially designed to haul this train at 160 KMPH.

Ratnagiri railway station (RN) is a train station that serves the city of Ratnagiri in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is the one of the main railway stations of the Konkan Railway. The station has modern facilities like elevator and escalator. All Konkan Railway trains halt at Ratnagiri. It is 7. Km away from the city. It falls under the Ratnagiri railway division.
Ratnagiri station lies on the Konkan Railway zone of Indian Railways that runs along the west coast of India.
The railway station has the daily connectivity to important cities of India like - Mumbai, Madgaon, New Delhi, Amritsar, Jamnagar, Ernakulam and Mangalore.
The Dadar Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Express, Konkan Kanya Express, and the Mandovi Express provide daily service to and from Ratnagiri and Mumbai, with minimal stops. Diva – Sawantwadi Sindhudurg Passenger and Dadar-Ratnagiri Passenger are the trains which stop on every station on route and provide daily service to and from Mumbai.
Other premium trains like Mumbai CST - Karmali Tejas Express, LTT Madgaon Double Decker Express, LTT Ernakulam A.C duronto express and LTT karmali A.C express provide a fully air conditioned and premium services on every alternate day to Mumbai.
Many other trains, originating from South India and Goa provide weekly services to North India, Gujarat etc. The Madgaon Rajdhani Express, Thiruvananthapuram Rajdhani Express, New Delhi Ernakulam Duronto express, Goa Express and Bikaner Coimbator A.C express provide services to North and South India.
All the seasonal summer special trains, Ganesh Chaturthi special trains and Christmas special trains halt at Ratnagiri Railway station.
The railway station has all the modern facilities that has to offer , Escalators and lifts on each platforms , Handicap friendly environment and access. Canteen , etc
There is also a Goods yard on the west side of rail station . A passenger coach Depot is also being made adjoining to the station.

A Journey Through The Spectacular Konkan Railway In India!
Konkan Railway, a 740 kilometer-long railway line that runs alongside the Western coast of India and connects the financial capital of India, Mumbai or Bombay, with the second largest city of Karnataka state, Mangaluru. The line cuts right across the unforgiving Western Ghat ranges and has over 90 tunnels to ensure a level gradient for trains to speed along the line, covering the distance from Mangalore to Mumbai in 15 hours on an average.
With over 60 stations, this single line railroad has witnessed unprecedented traffic growth over the last decade. It handles two Rajdhani Express trains; Madgaon and Trivandrum Rajdhani, one Janshatabdi from Mumbai to Goa, one Double Decker express, and several Superfast, Express and Passenger trains along with freight trains and also Konkan Railway's own Roll On Roll Off Lorry on Train freight service.

Mumbai Mangalore Konkan Railways Full Journey - Okha Ernakulam Express
Presenting a full journey compilation from the southern Konkan coast, based on a journey between Mumbai and Thrisur aboard the Okha Ernakulam Express. This is the first part of the compilation covering the Konkan portion till Mangalore and I begin the journey from Vasai Road in Mumbai. Prominently covered in this compilation is the train's journey through the beautiful Konkan coast of Goa and Karnataka with numerous tunnels and river crossings. Prominent rivers include the Mandovi, Zuari, Kali, Sharavathi, Aganashini and Gangavali. Additionally, there is also a brief parallel departure from Madgaon, a crossing with the Mangala Lakshwadeep Express, an overtake by the Mumbai Mangalore Express, and subsequent crossings with the Trivandrum Veraval Express, Poorna Express and the Ernakulam Pune Express. Our train was hauled by two sparkling Ernakulam WDM3As, blending wonderful with the picturesque Konkan.
