The championship layout at Kooyonga represents the vision, passion and the culmination of the lifetime of H.L. Cargie Rymill. Had Rymill had achieved the playing notoriety of Bobby Jones then Kooyonga would be as revered as Augusta National. Certainly Kooyonga is as significant to Australian golf as Augusta to American golf.
Occupying classic linksland with superb couch and bent grass playing surfaces, Kooyonga exceeds all expectations in terms of raw natural beauty, superb and committed maintenance and strategic detail.
Rymill's visit to the UK and Scotland in 1923 very clearly influenced his on-going work of love at Kooyonga. In classic links style, most greens provide options for the low run-up, or knock down shot to keep the ball beneath the wind......but golfer beware! So often, the tentacles of a superb greenside bunker plan encroach on these run-up areas such that even a central pin placement can be difficult to attack.
Kooyonga, quite simply, charms and enthrals, excites and challenges. We hope you enjoy this wonderful snapshot of one of Australia's most magnificent golf courses.

A golf club with a magnificent history dating back to 1892, Royal Adelaide is an icon of Australian golf. A top 100 course in the world, the original layout was enhanced following the visit of Dr. Alister MacKenzie in 1926. A layout that had previously weaved a path around a magnificent central sand dune system, was altered on Mackenzie's recommendations to incorporate the dunes into the routing, along with the implementation of much of Mackenzie's bunker plan throughout.
Royal Adelaide has been host to nine Australian Opens, sixteen Australian Amateur Championships and the Ladies Open and Amateur Championships. A formidable 6557m, Par 72, ACR 74 from the Championship tees, the seemingly wide open spaces are often fraught with danger. The tentacles of MacKenzie's magnificent bunker plan encroach upon the fairways and narrow the approaches to the greens. Re-vegetation areas are being brought into play to strengthen the strategic merits of the course and provide for a magnificent show of naturally blended linksland colours throughout.
We are especially pleased to bring you this snapshot of Royal Adelaide GC. As a project, we found it exhilarating to work with so much history, old photographs and great championship stories, the MacKenzie connection and a magnificent golf course. Please enjoy!

Climbing 23 positions to rank at #29 in Australia, is recognition of the vision and professional commitment that Glenelg Golf Club has illustrated to restoration of this classic links.
What were once considered wastelands by most, the natural flats and hollows, shutes and borrows, watercourses and sandy flats were recognised by a few to contain the eminently suitable characteristics for the game of golf. Today impeccable couch fairways and superb fast running bent grass greens are shaped around twelve seasonal wetland areas and ninety-three bunkers to present a challenging and beautifully presented championship golf course.
With distinct heritable characteristics of the classic golf links courses of Scotland and the UK, Glenelg tests the golfers thinking and both challenges his decisions and shot making abilities. Here, the golfer quickly learns the need to understand and play with, the strategic intent of each hole rather than against it and this surely is the hallmark of a great golf course.
We hope you enjoy our video of a wonderful South Australian classic links.

Located at Mt. Compass on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula, Fleurier Golf Club presents as a complete surprise, totally exceeding expectations both in terms of its naturally scenic location and its strategic design.
This is a really fun golf course and although 50kms from Cape Jarvis where the winds of the Great Southern Ocean batter the South Australian coastline this course is pure natural links.
Beautiful rolling sand dunes comprise the terrain to provide interest, challenge and diversity of links style playing conditions. Magnificent couch fairways and bent grass greens establish the quality elements of excellent year round playing surfaces and thoughtful design around wetlands, bunkers and natural hazards complete what is an excellent test of golf in a lovely, natural away from it all environment.
Our video illustrates that this is a course that is beautifully maintained and presented. A friendly inviting atmosphere complements the package, as one that is wholly recommended.
