Cruising Israel - Korazim National Park
Korazim National Park located 300 meters above the Sea of Galilee contains ruins of an ancient Byzantine town. In the 16th century it was home to Jewish fisherman and was apparently one of the cities condemned by Jesus.

Holy Land Tour Day 3 Israel | Travel vlog Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum, Sea of Galilee, Yardenit
Here is the third day of our Holy Land Tour where we visited the mount of Beatitudes, Tabgha, Capernaum the town of Jesus, the Sea of Galilee and Yardenit baptismal site. Listen to our tour guide and you will learn a lot. Thank you Mr Jacob, our old but strong and very informative tour guide.
Mount of Beatitudes (Hebrew: הר האושר, Har HaOsher) is a hill in northern Israel, in the Korazim Plateau. It is where Jesus is believed to have delivered the Sermon on the Mount.
Tabgha (Arabic: الطابغة, al-Tabigha; Hebrew: עין שבע, Ein Sheva which means spring of seven) is an area situated on the north-western shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. It is traditionally accepted as the place of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes (Mark 6:30-46) and the fourth resurrection appearance of Jesus (John 21:1-24) after his Crucifixion. Between the Late Muslim period and 1948, it was the site of a Palestinian Arab village.
Capernaum (/kəˈpɜːrniəm, -neɪəm/ kə-PUR-nee-əm, -nay-əm; Hebrew: כְּפַר נַחוּם, romanized: Kfar Naḥūm, lit. 'Nahum's village'; Arabic: كفر ناحوم, romanized: Kafr Nāḥūm) was a fishing village established during the time of the Hasmoneans, located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. It had a population of about 1,500. Archaeological excavations have revealed two ancient synagogues built one over the other. A house turned into a church by the Byzantines is believed to have been the home of Saint Peter.
The Sea of Galilee (Hebrew: יָם כִּנֶּרֶת, Judeo-Aramaic: יַמּא דטבריא, גִּנֵּיסַר, Arabic: بحيرة طبريا), Lake Tiberias, Kinneret or Kinnereth, is a freshwater lake in Israel. It is the lowest freshwater lake on Earth and the second-lowest lake in the world (after the Dead Sea, a saltwater lake), at levels between 215 metres (705 ft) and 209 metres (686 ft) below sea level. It is approximately 53 km (33 mi) in circumference, about 21 km (13 mi) long, and 13 km (8.1 mi) wide. Its area is 166.7 sqkm (64.4 sq mi) at its fullest, and its maximum depth is approximately 43 m (141 feet). The lake is fed partly by underground springs, but its main source is the Jordan River, which flows through it from north to south.
Yardenit (Hebrew: ירדנית), also known as the Yardenit Baptismal Site, is a baptism site located along the Jordan River in the Galilee region of northern Israel, which is frequented by Christian pilgrims. The site is located south of the river's outlet from the Sea of Galilee, near Kibbutz Kvutzat Kinneret, which owns and manages the site.

Entry from: Capernaum, Israel
Entry Title: Tabgha, Bethsaida, Mt. Beatitudes, Capernaum,
Entry:
When asked what my favorites of the trip were, I always say the Seas because so many of the things we saw were supposedly the place or believed to be the place, but it's hard to deny the authenticity of an actual body of water as great as the Meditarranean, the Dead Sea, or the Sea of Galilee. We had arrived late Wednesday evening to the Kibbutz in Ma'agan, went straight to our units, unpacked and cleaned up for dinner. Later that evening before turning in for the night, a few of us walked down to the Sea of Galilee to wade in the water and have a brief and informal devotional. The following morning on my way from my unit to the dining hall, I noticed a beautiful panoramic of the Sea. After breakfast Bambi and Yuval took us on our 3rd day of touring the Holy Land. Our first stop would be Tabgha, where 5000 were fed by Jesus who performed the miracle of the Multiplication of the Fish and Loaves. On our way to Tabgha from Ma'agan I caught a glimpse of Tiberias, where we would spend some time that evening in the markets, shopping and observing locals dancing to bohemian music on top of a bus that was driving through the city center. Our second stop, after Tabgha, was the city of Bethsaida which was discovered in 1987, by Israeli archaeologist Dr. Rami Arav. In 1990, Dr. Arav and several colleagues from around the world joined together to form the Consortium of the Bethsaida Excavations Project to uncover the ancient layers of this 21 acre site. Bethsaida means House of the Fisherman and is one of the most frequently mentioned cities in the New Testament. Peter, Andrew, and Phillip, three of the 12 Apostles, were from Bethsaida. It is also believed to be a place where Jesus performed several miracles. Korazim was the 2nd archaelogical site we visited. The town's ruins are spread over an area of 25 acres, subdivided into five separate quarters, with a synagogue in the center. The ruins at the site include a large, impressive synagogue which was built with black basalt stones where Yuval sat in what is believed to be Moses' Chair. Our next stop, Mount Beatitudes: The Church of the Beatitudes, an octagonal shaped chapel situated atop the Mount of Beatitudes, marks the spot where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount. It was built after remains of a small Byzantine church were discovered here in 1935. The modern church was built on a hilltop, not over the ancient church. Our group gathered in a shaded area on a hill overlooking the Church of the Beatitudes to listen to Robert read the 8 Beatitudes from Matthew 5:3-10 in English. Yuval then read them to us in Hebrew. After leaving the Mount of Beatitudes we went to another location to view a fisherman's boat believed to be from Jesus time. Then we boarded an Egyptian style boat to enjoy a ride on the Sea of Galilee. A St. Peter's Fish lunch was prepared for us upon our return to shore. YUM! On our way back to the Kibbutz in Ma'agan that evening, Bambi stopped in Yardenit, the Baptismal site on the Jordan River, where 2 ladies in our group were baptized.

Kursi Bible Teaching: Demon Possessed Man Healed, 2,000 Pigs Run into the Sea of Galilee and Drown
See the place and hear the moving story about how Christ healed a demon-possessed man and cast the demons into a heard of 2,000 pigs who ran down a steep hill into the Sea of Galilee.
Location
1. Kursi is the place where two demon-possessed men were healed.
2. The demons who lived in these men were cast into a herd of pigs that ran down a steep bank into the sea.
3. It took place on the east side of the Sea of Galilee in the region of the Gerasenes or Gadarenes. This place was also called Kurshi in Hebrew and Kursy in Arabic.
4. It was in the region of the Decapolis.
5. The Decapolis was made up of 10 Roman cities that functioned like city-states. It was a region outside of Jewish authority and inhabited by Jews and Gentiles.
6. It was an immoral area that represented all that sinful humanity had to offer. Therefore, it was considered unclean to the Jews.
7. The caves where the demon-possessed men lived can be seen on the hillside above Kursi.
8. Today, this site contains the ruins of the largest Byzantine monastery complex in Israel. It dates from the middle of the 5th century and was built to commemorate what took place here.
Historical Background
1. Jesus and His disciples were coming from the Capernaum area where Jesus had just performed many miracles and preached about the parables of the kingdom.
2. On the boat ride to this area, Jesus performed an astounding miracle of calming the sea and storm.
Matthew 8:23–27: And when he got into the boat, his disciples followed him. And behold, there arose a great storm on the sea, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but he was asleep. And they went and woke him, saying, Save us, Lord; we are perishing. And he said to them, Why are you afraid, O you of little faith? Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?
3. This event is the most detailed account of an exorcism (casting out demons) in the Bible.

One of the greatest desires of Pope Paul VI was to build in Israel a center where Seminarians could complete their formation before being ordained. It was with this frame of mind that the Vatican purchased Notre Dame, near the Jaffa Gate in Jerusalem. At the beginning of the 80's, the Custodian in the Holy Land offered the Neo-Catechumenal Way (see page on The Neo-Catechumenal Way) the possibility to build a center of formation, for studies and retreat, on a piece of land situated on the Mount of Beatitudes. This work is of particular interest to the Church and for Israel.Pope Woytila, when he was first informed about the project Domus Galilaeae in 1994, showed his enthusiasm. He blessed it and supported it, seeing in it a service for all peoples and for the whole Church. In the following years all the permits were obtained for the construction which began in January 1999, with the laying of the first stone, which contained a fragment of the tomb of St. Peter, blessed by the Holy Father. The project is situated above the Sanctuary of Beatitudes, towards the top of the mountain known as the Beatitudes. It is directly in front of Lake Tiberias, above Tabgha, the place of the first multiplication of the bread, and Capernaum. One and a half kilometers away, the ancient ruins of Korazim can be found. These ruins were brought to light in recent years. The project rises near the road that in ancient days united Korazim and Capernaum, on the shores of the lake.

TRAVEL ISRAEL | KORAZIM (CHORAZIN) NATIONAL PARK - גן לאומי כורזים
Welcome to another video tour!
This time, Korazim (Chorazin) national park.
From the Israel Nature and Parks Authority website:
The town of Korazim is first mentioned in sources from the Second Temple period, noting the fine wheat the inhabitants raised there.
It flourished at the end of the Talmudic period. In the New Testament, Korazim is mentioned as one of three towns – together with Bethsaida and Capernaum – which Jesus cursed because they did not heed his teachings (Matt. 11:20).
The beautiful synagogue at Korazim, built at the end of the fourth century or the beginning of the fifth century CE, is made of basalt, the region’s most common stone, carved in geometric, floral and faunal patterns.
Many present-day visitors use the synagogue for Bar Mitzvah ceremonies and weddings.
Also found was a carved basalt seat, for the community’s most respected members, known in the ancient sources as the Moses Seat, bearing an Aramaic inscription.
The ancient ritual bath has been reconstructed near the synagogue, along with two large dwellings and an olive press.
There is also a Bedouin sheikh’s tomb at Korazim.
