The Kortright Kortright Centre for Conservation consists of 325 hectares of land located in the heart of suburban Vaughan, Ontario. This video was made as part of the Grade 12 Photography project Natural Continuities: an Exhibit in Honour of Lyn MacMIllan held at the Kortright Centre for Conservation on January 12, 2017.

Kortright Centre has beautiful trails all season long, great for hiking.
Situated 10 minutes north of Toronto on pristine woodlands. Kortright Centre combines a natural oasis with leading edge sustainable education programs and events in Canada. The centre hosts 100,000 visitors annually and offers over 50 environmental education programs for schools and 30 sustainable technology workshops for the public, trades and professionals.

How to make maple syrup: Kortright Centre will show you How
It's the time of year to make maple syrup, and you want to know how to make those yammy maple syrup? Come to Kortright Center you will see how to make it in front of you.
Maple syrup is a syrup usually made from the xylem sap of sugar maple, red maple, or black maple trees, although it can also be made from other maple species. In cold climates, these trees store starch in their trunks and roots before the winter; the starch is then converted to sugar that rises in the sap in the spring. Maple trees can be tapped by boring holes into their trunks and collecting the exuded sap. The sap is processed by heating to evaporate much of the water, leaving the concentrated syrup.
Maple syrup is graded according to the Canada, United States, or Vermont scales based on its density and translucency. Sucrose is the most prevalent sugar in maple syrup. In Canada, syrups must be at least 66 percent sugar and be made exclusively from maple sap to qualify as maple syrup. In the United States, a syrup must be made almost entirely from maple sap to be labelled as maple.
Maple syrup is often eaten with pancakes, waffles, French toast, or oatmeal and porridge. It is also used as an ingredient in baking, and as a sweetener or flavouring agent.
Three species of maple trees are predominantly used to produce maple syrup: the sugar maple (Acer saccharum), the black maple (A. nigrum), and the red maple

It is located at 9550 Pine Valley Dr, Woodbridge, ON L4L 1A6 The Kortright Centre, which opened in 1979, is operated by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Between March and mid-April, Kortright Centre features demonstrations of syrup-making as it was done during the pioneer days. Maple syrup products are also served in the main attraction. It shows an log house in which the First Nations used to live in during the pioneer times in the surrounding area, as well as holes used for sap from the maple trees, which are numbered. It also show older markings from the previous years.

When Sana and Nadim came to us looking for a wedding videographer I was excited to get to know them! During our conversation, I found out that they have only been together for 4 months. Crazy! You don't find it to often but this is a prime example of a couple that found love at first sight. Despite everything going on around them, they managed to organize a stunning wedding at the Kortright Centre For Conversation. You could really tell that his couple was just too excited to marry each other!
