Kottathavalam water falls , an ideal picnic spot near Wagaman (adivaram) , is situated near Murugan hills at Kurisumala in Kottayam. A flight of steps cut in the rocks takes one to this magnificent cave, Kottathavalam. Legends say that the royal family from Madurai rested here on their way to Poonjar. The rocks within the cave, carved like chairs and couches and the figures of Madurai Meenakshi, Ayyappa, Murugan, Kannaki and weapons sculpted on them, are all worth exploring.

Marmala waterfalls kottayam
Marmala Waterfall lies a few kilometres away from erattupetta, in kottayam district, kera, India inside a private estate It is exactly 8 km from Teekoyi. The road from Mangalagiri to Marmala Waterfall is currently under construction and solling is completed recently only. Once reaching the base station, one has to trek through the estate over the slippery rocky path inorder to reach the waterfalls. Marmala waterfall is about 60 meters in height, falling into a 12-meter deep pool and joins the River Teekoy way down.

കോട്ടയം ജില്ലയിലെ ഏറ്റവും ഉയരക്കാരൻ എന്നൊരു വിശേഷണമുണ്ട് ഈ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടത്തിന്ന്. ഈരാറ്റുപേട്ടയിൽ നിന്ന് 10 മാത്രം അകലെയാണ് ഈ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. റബർ കർഷക ഗ്രാമമായ പാതബുഴയിലാണ് ഈ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം. മഴക്കാലം സജീവമായി മാറുന്ന അനേകം വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടങ്ങൾ മലയോരമേഖലയിൽ ഉണ്ട് അത്തരത്തിൽ ഒന്നാണ് അരുവികച്ചൽ വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടം.
അപകട രഹിതമായി കുളിക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്ന വെള്ളച്ചാട്ടമാണ് അരുവികച്ചൽ. വെള്ളം വന്ന് പതിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്ത് ഒട്ടും ആഴമില്ല എന്നത് കൊണ്ട് നീന്തൽ ആവശ്യമായി വരുന്നില്ല. എന്നിരുന്നാലും പാറയിലെ വഴുക്കൽ അപകട സാധ്യത ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നതാണ്

The Poonjar palace, about 600 years old, is built in the traditional architectural styles of ancient Chera and Pandya Kingdoms is a privileged historic destination. The floors and interior parts are quite unique in their design and outlook. There is also a temple inside the palace built according to the Vastu shastra laws. These uniqueness of Poonjar palace attracts lots of visitors to visit this place. A museum is also housed inside the palace which preserves many rock cut lamps, sculptures and antiques. The Kerala state department of archaeology keeps the palace as a heritage site and a historic monument
