A bite of Patensie
Patensie is situated in Gamtoos Valley, it is the last town you get before you enter Baviaanskloof and about 100 km from Port Elizabeth, 50 km from Jeffreys Bay... so why not make a day trip out of it and drop by Padlangs for lunch?
Check the blog for different route options from Port Elizabeth as well as other things you can get up to in the Gamtoos Valley:

NG 119 HD.wmv
South Africa's Apple Express up the Langkloof from Port Elizabeth is Transnet Rail Freight's last remaining narrow-gauge 2' railway. Traffic levels are minimal and the line is constantly under threat, with half of the route already being closed due to wash-aways. The Apple Express Society operates a preserved steam service to Loerie, but occasionally runs further up the line. One such occasion was the operation of an railway-enthusiast's excursion for Geoff's Trains, a UK based tour operator, in June 2010.
We first see the train, hauled by NG15 No. NG119, near Loerie and then later near Assegaaibos, the termination point. The following day we see the engine being prepared and coupled to the train, before performing a photo-runpast and then finally on its way to Humansdorp.

NMB loses 42% of Water from Dam to Tap
A recent report - - stated that the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropole loses 42% of it's water from Dam to Tap.
I now have new empathy for the Municipality finding all those leaks.
The leak you see above literally took us three months to find as we installed stop cocks along all lines and couldn't see any telltale signs of lush grass growing. We are situated on lots of rock so the water drains down instead of making it's way to the surface.
