Κουρσούμ Τζαμί, Τρίκαλα / Koursoum Mosque, Trikala Greece
Το Κουρσούμ Τζαμί ή Τέμενος Οσμάν Σάχ των Τρικάλων είναι ισλαμικό τέμενος, κτίσμα του 16ου αιώνα σχεδιασμένο από τον Μιμάρ Σινάν, το οποίο σήμερα λειτουργεί ως χώρος ήπιων εκδηλώσεων.
Ονομάζεται έτσι από την τουρκική λέξη κουρσούμ, που σημαίνει μόλυβδος, καθώς ο θόλος του είναι μολυβοσκέπαστος.
Κοντά στο τζαμί σώζεται το οκταγωνικό μαυσωλείο (τουρμπές) του ιδρυτή του, Οσμάν Σαχ, εγγονού του σουλτάνου Σελίμ Α΄, κυβερνήτη της τοπικής επαρχίας (σαντζάκι) ο οποίος πέθανε στα Τρίκαλα το 1567/8. Κατά την παράδοση, ο Οσμάν έκτισε το τζαμί επειδή στα Τρίκαλα θεραπεύτηκε από αρρώστια που τον ταλαιπωρούσε. Το τζαμί σήμερα είναι μνημείο προστατευόμενο από την UNESCO και χρησιμεύει σαν χώρος ήπιων εκδηλώσεων.

Ein seltenes Denkmal wie Koursoum - Moschee weckt Erinnerungen an eine andere historische Epoche und bringt die Gäste Bilder von der Kultur des Ostens dagegen. Das Hotel liegt im Süden der Stadt und nach dem Eingang von der Seite des Karditsa.
Die Tradition besagt, dass der Prinz Osman Shah, der Sohn von Sultan Süleyman (1520 - 1566) kam in Trikala gejagt und krank. Da in Trikala geheilt, baute die Moschee zum Gedenken an die Erlösung.

Ένα σπάνιο μνημείο σαν το Κουρσούμ - Τζαμί ξυπνάει μνήμες μιας άλλης ιστορικής εποχής και φέρνει στο μυαλό του επισκέπτη εικόνες από τον πολιτισμό της Ανατολής. Βρίσκεται νότια της πόλης και μετά την είσοδο από την πλευρά της Καρδίτσας.
Η παράδοση λέει, ότι ο πρίγκιπας Οσμάν Σαχ, γιος του σουλτάνου Σουλεϊμάν (1520 - 1566) ήλθε στα Τρίκαλα κυνηγημένος και άρρωστος. Επειδή στα Τρίκαλα γιατρεύτηκε, έχτισε το τζαμί αυτό σε ανάμνηση της σωτηρίας του.

The British Council in Greece and Intelligence Squared [IQ2], an international non-governmental group that organizes public debates on crucial contemporary issues,organised a discussion on the controversial subject of whether or not a mosque should be built in central Athens.
Arguing that only good can come out of building a mosque in Athens, the main speakers of the event challenged arguments against the construction of a place of worship for the claimed 500,000 Muslims living in and around the Greek capital.
Speaking for the motion were :
-Tariq Ramadan, a professor in contemporary Islamic studies at Oxford University, and a noted philosopher and theologian who advocates the reinterpretation of Islamic texts.
-Anna Triandafyllidou -- a senior research fellow at the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP), as well as a professor at the European University Institute in Florence, who specializes in migration and European integration
- Chadi Ayoubi, a correspondent for Al Jazeera in Greece and founder of islam.gr.
Speaking against the construction of a mosque in Athens were
- Douglas Murray, an award-winning author, commentator and director of the UK-based Center for Social Cohesion;
- Melanie Phillips, author of Londonistan and of the controversial The World Turned Upside Down: The Global Battle over God, Truth and Power
-Demetrius Floudas, an international analyst who serves as Adjunct Professor at the Moscow Institute for the Development of Financial Markets and a Senior Associate at Hughes Hall, Cambridge.
The debate was chaired by Sotiris Roussos, an associate professor in international relations at the University of the Peloponnese.

StudioVGgr. Ξεκινώντας από τα Τρίκαλα στο Ληθαίο κάναμε μια ανάπαυλα στη υπέροχες δροσιστικές όχθες του Ληθαίου
με θέα το άγαλμα του Ασκληπιού στην πρώτη Β.Δ. γέφυρα, ανεβαίνοντας στην κεντρική γέφυρα και κάνοντας μια αργή στροφή είδαμε το άγαλμα του Στρατηγού Στέφανου Σαράφη μπροστά στην κεντρική πλατεία μετά είδαμε το Άγαλμα της Νεράιδας περάσαμε τη γέφυρα απέναντι σε μια άλλη πλατεία είδαμε τα πέντε παλικάρια.
Ο ποταμός Ληθαίος είναι ένα από τα αξιοθέατα της πόλης
των Τρικάλων, ο Ληθαίος προσφέρει ανάσες δροσιάς στον
επισκέπτη και γραφικές γωνιές ανάπαυλας από την
καθημερινότητα στην όχθη του ποταμού, σε μια από τις γέφυρες, υπάρχει το άγαλμα του Ασκληπιού.
Η κεντρική γέφυρα η οποία είναι τοξωτή και μεταλλική,
κατασκευάστηκε στη Γαλλία το 1886.
The Mosques on the Island of Kos
The mosques in Kos built during the Ottoman period had been closed by the Greek authorities after the earthquake in July 2017 in Greece for renovation. Their renovation has been pending for 2 years and today there are no mosques on the island where the Muslim Turkish community of Kos can pray.
