Koyasan (Japón)

En la primera quincena de Julio de 2018, hicimos este viaje a Japón. A continuación se describe los sitios que aparecen en el video:

El Monte Koya es el centro más importante del budismo shingon en Japón, situado en las montañas de la prefectura de Wakayama, al sur de Osaka. Está situado en un valle rodeado de los ocho picos de la montaña del mismo nombre, junto al pueblo de Koya, en un lugar que se creía sembrado de lotos. El asentamiento original fue elegido por el monje Kukai en el año 819 como cuartel general del budismo shingon japonés, a unos 800 metros de altitud, al oeste de la península de Kii. Allí se construirían a lo largo del tiempo los 120 templos que ocupan el valle y una universidad dedicada a estudios religiosos.
En 2004, la Unesco declaró el lugar Patrimonio de la Humanidad como parte de los Sitios sagrados y rutas de peregrinación de los Montes Kii.
El Templo Kongobuji es el templo principal del budismo Koyasan Shingon, debe tenerse en cuenta que, dado que tradicionalmente se considera que el monte al completo es el recinto de este templo. El edificio del templo fue construido en 1593 con el nombre de Templo Seigan-ji por Toyotomi Hideyoshi a la muerte de su madre,​ fue reconstruido en 1861 y recibió su nombre actual en 1869. Buena parte de las habitaciones del templo contienen muchas puertas correderas hechas de pantallas de papel. Dado que Kongōbu-ji es el principal templo de la secta Shingon y el Monte Koya se considera el recinto sobre el que tiene autoridad directa, el resto de estructuras y monumentos del monte suelen considerarse parte del complejo del templo.

Entre estas estructuras cercanas destacan Danjo Garan, un lugar sagrado donde se reúnen algunos de los más importantes edificios de la zona como el salón Kondo, la pagoda Konpon Daito y el salón Fudōdō (un Tesoro Nacional de Japón).

Okunoin es el más grande de Japón, que posee más de 200.000 tumbas de todas las formas, tamaños y épocas. Está situado a 800 metros de altitud, cuenta con 120 templos en sus mediaciones y una universidad de estudios religiosos. Pero un cementerio así no surge de la noche a la mañana, todo empezó en el año 819 cuando el monje Kukai (llamado Kobo Daishi “posmortem”) eligió el monte Koya como cuartel general del budismo shingon -una de las escuelas principales del budismo japonés, con más seguidores, y la más importante entre las tántricas, fuera de la India y el Tíbet-. La leyenda dice que Kukai no llegó a morir nunca, si no que alcanzó el Nirvana y sigue meditando con vida eterna en el monte Koya. Con el paso de los siglos grandes personalidades han querido reposar junto a Kobo Daishi, popularizando cada vez más el cementerio y ayudando a su crecimiento, Algunos de ellos son antiguos señores feudales como Ieyasu Tokugawa o Hidetada Tokugawa, primer y segundo señor (respectivamente) del sogunato, también están enterrados muchos políticos y otras personalidades destacadas. Todos quieren reposar junto a Kukai.

Koyasan is, the beginning of the Heian period, Japan is a great saint gave birth, is a major holy place of Japanese Buddhism opened by Kobo Daishi.

Baikei's calligraphy at Koyasan

Baikei was invited to add some of his calligraphy to the paper doors inside Fukuchin Temple at the world heritage site of Mount Koya. He was asked to write Kukai who founded the temple back in 826.

Hopefully when people are visiting a thousand years from now his work will still be there for people to enjoy.

おいし高原）でドローンで撮影してきました。11月中旬までが見所らしく、管理している方に本日は人が多いのでくれぐれも事故の無いように注意して飛ばしてくださいとの事で人の少ない端の方で飛ばしました。カメラワークも下手ですが自由に飛ばせなかったのが残念です。
