Omikuji Robot at Koyasu Shrine in Hachioji City
This is a robot for Japanese gods' fortune-telling called Omikuji. After inserting 200yen, the robot will pick up a fortune-telling paper for you and give it to you.

If you would like to see the geisha casually, you shoud go to the event. You can see the brilliant appearance of the geisha people even at the Setsubunkai held at Takayama Yakuin and the Hachioji Festival held every August.

In the years between the Meiji and early Showa eras, Hachioji thrived on its textile industry. And as the city flourished, so too did its Nakacho geisha district, with more than 200 female entertainers operating in the neighborhood at its peak.
After World War II, however, women increasingly stopped wearing kimono and began dressing in Western-style clothing.
Hachioji’s geisha population faced certain extinction, with only 10 entertainers working in the industry in 1999, writes Asahara in “Geishashu ni Hanataba O: Hachioji Karyukai, Fukkatsu” (“Flowers for Geisha: The Revitalization of Hachioji’s Geisha District”), which was published by Fuuseisha Corp. in June this year.
Megumi opened her own okiya boarding house for geisha in 2001, the first such establishment to open in Hachioji in 20 years. Three geisha at the lodging have since gone on to open their own boarding houses and in the 18 years since Megumi first put up the advertisement, Hachioji has seen its geisha population almost double. And last year, for the first time in more than half a century, a hangyoku apprentice called Kurumi made her.

Fortune Telling Robot in Kyoto Shrine
Spotted this robot (made to look like a one eyed monster) in central Kyoto, in a shrine near a covered market. You put in some money, selected your language and it produces a card with your fortune. Very cool.
Sorry about the poor quality of the video, taken on my aged phone.

成田山新勝寺と成田空港の玄関口にあたる成田駅。当駅からは同じ「JR成田線」が、佐倉方面、佐原方面、成田空港方面、我孫子方面の4方向に路線が分岐し、各線の特徴に合わせた列車を見ることができます。今回は成田駅を発着・通過する多彩な顔ぶれの列車を計13本撮影しました。
Narita station is an entrance of Narita-san Shinsho-ji Temple and Narita International Airport. This station belongs to JR Narita line, but rails divaricate in 4 different directions for Sakura, Sawara, Narita Airport and Abiko. So trains has different characters in accordance with each line. I took movie of 13 distinctive trains arriving at, departing from and passing through Narita station on the JR Narita line.

埼玉県日高市にある高麗川駅。当駅はJR八高線と川越線が接続する運行上の拠点であると同時に、埼玉県唯一の鉄道非電化区間の起点でもあります。今回は、高麗川駅にて、駅周辺や構内、列車の発着風景を撮影してみました。
