Once again, Russia is becoming a world center of sports. These days, guests from 85 countries discover Siberia. The first Winter Universiade to be hosted here started on Saturday in Krasnoyarsk. President Putin announced the start at the opening ceremony. For the first time in the history of the Winter Universiade, the ticket sale started exactly 12 months before the start of the games. And they sold out. The Universiade will last until March 12th.

Urban lightning show Krasnoyarsk: the Heart of Siberia
In 2019 we continued to transform the urban environment in Krasnoyarsk and created the second stationary lightning show The Heart of Siberia at the architectural complex on the junction of Yenisei river, which includes the 550 meters long Vinogradovsky pedestrian cable-stayed bridge, as well as the Museum Center Square of the World (the largest exhibition platform of contemporary art in Siberia) and the Bolshoi concert hall of the Krasnoyarsk Philharmonic. Besides we programmed the dynamic illumination system of the whole somplex again.
This time the plot of the show was based on genius loci of the city and symbolically reflected its sightseeings and unique features. Unfortunately we could not display clear images on the architectural objects (except media facades) because of the physical limitations of the working surfaces. That is why we create a concept of the show using maxims of emotional design with the associative color and shape row, which contained symbols of Krasnoyarsk, such as The Yenisei, Krasny Yar, Krasnoyarsk Pillars etc.
The show was 8 minutes long. It was supported by original visual row, which integrated color-dynamic solutions, spectacular visual moves and optical illusions, the drama of the presentation enhanced with the original sound accompaniment.

It's hard to appreciate the true scale of Rachel Owens' work at a glance. Beside the granite slab of the Krasnoyarsk Museum Center stands a golden throne, which, upon closer inspection, reveals itself to be an ordinary—albeit gilded—set of stadium bleachers. Speakers of all shapes and sizes form a makeshift seatback for the top row. The throne overlooks the Yenisei River, and it seems to direct a gaze into the expansive distance. But it's more than a gaze—it's a voice. Listen closely, and you'll hear a chorus of voices emerging from the speakers at various volumes—alternating between loud and barely audible—all describing a distant place. This place, however, isn't one that can be seen while perched on this democratic, publicly accessible throne; and the listener realizes that Rachel Owens' work is much bigger than it seems. A throne just like it, a twin to Krasnoyarsk's, stands inside the Brooklyn Academy of Music. On opposite ends of the Earth, the thrones constitute a polar axis that pierces the globe with invisible threads of communication. The opposites exchange information: the throne in Krasnoyarsk speaks Russian as its voices describe what the Brooklynites see before them, while the one in Brooklyn speaks English, sharing the visual impressions of the citizens of Krasnoyarsk. Siberia Drone Flight: Siberia is a vast Russian province encompassing most of Northern Asia, with terrain spanning tundra, coniferous forest and mountain ranges including the Ural, Altai and Verkhoyansk. Lake Baikal, in its south, is the worlds deepest lake, circled by a network of hiking paths called the Great Baikal Trail. The Trans-Siberian Railway passes Baikal on its route between Moscow and the Sea of Japan. Lake Baikals largest island, Olkhon, is a center of shamanism marked by Shaman Rock, an outcropping held sacred by indigenous islanders. The city of Irkutsk, the western gateway to Baikal, offers classical Russian architecture and Russian Orthodox churches. The Altai Mountains are river-rafting and mountaineering destinations with diverse wildlife and ecosystems. The Siberian Traps, a region of stairlike hills formed by ancient volcanoes, include Putorana Nature Reserve, which protects lakes and animals like reindeer and snow sheep. Novosibirsk, Siberias largest city, houses wood-lace buildings and the State Art Museum. // Irkutsk is a city on the Angara River in eastern Siberia, Russia. The river embankment is lined with hurches, including the Epiphany Cathedral (Sobor Bogoyavleniya), with gilded onion domes, and the Spasskaya Church, with its soaring bell tower. The restored neoclassical Moskovskie Vorota arch is also by the water. Near Kirov Square, the Irkutsk Regional Art Museum has ancient icons and more recent Russian artworks. // Ulan-Ude is a city in East Siberia, Russia. Nearby is the 18th-century Odigitrievsky Cathedral. To the north, Datsan Rinpoche Bagsha is a Buddhist temple with gilded stupas and sweeping city views. Our first day in Moscow, Russia before we embark on the Trans Siberian Railway.
This is a journey of 10,000 km across Russia, the biggest country in the world. 25 days to visit Saint Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, Yekaterinburg, Krasnoyarsk, Ulan-Ude, and Vladivostok.
In this Russia travel vlog, we arrive in Moscow from Saint Petersburg, to meet some friends of our Russian guide Yaroslav. Here we jump on some bicycles and see a bit of this incredible city. The food was the main event this day, as we found a great local restaurant and had a great Russian Food FEAST of borsch, okroshka, home made dumplings, and so much more.

Krasnoyarsk
Krasnoyarsk (Russian: Красноярск; IPA: [krəsnɐˈjærsk]) is a city and the administrative center of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, located on the Yenisei River. It is the third largest city in Siberia after Novosibirsk and Omsk, with a population of 1,035,528 as of the 2010 Census. Krasnoyarsk is an important junction of the Trans-Siberian Railway and one of Russia's largest producers of aluminium.
The city is notable for its nature landscapes; author Anton Chekhov judged Krasnoyarsk to be the most beautiful city in Siberia.
