English translation below. Febbraio 2002. Un drago è l' emblema di questa città e uno specchio d'acqua è l'ambiente su cui si è sviluppata. Nel video girato in occasione della mia visita anni fa quando Youtube non esisteva ancora. Ho cercato di rappresentare le principali attrazioni del posto.
A Klagenfurt , Capoluogo della Carinzia, si respira una atmosfera provinciale e noiosa che sparisce in occasione dei mercatini di Natale, i più belli in Alpe Adria. La Neuen Platz, sede del municipio in stile neoclassico, costituisce il luogo più importante della città quando ce da festeggiare. Qui ha sede il Municipio ma c'è anche il Lindwurm, il leggendario drago della saga che narra la fondazione di Klagenfurt. Nelle immediate vicinanze troviamo il monumento eretto a Maria Teresa imperatrice d’Austria. In Pfarrplatz il campanile della chiesa parrocchiale offre una piattaforma panoramica a 50 m di altezza da cui si gode una vista meravigliosa del centro storico. L’ Alter Platz, dalla forma rettangolare dove si concentrano I palazzi nobiliari in stile barocco ed i migliori negozi della città. E' una zona pedonale così pure la Kramergasse che è una delle strade più antiche di Klagenfurt. Come si vede sulla pavimentazione sono raffigurati gli stemmi di tutte le città gemellate con Klagenfurt. Poco distante spicca la statua dell'Ometto con la botte da cui la leggenda vuole sia fuoriuscita una tale quantitá d´acqua da sommergera la città in preda ai bagordi e da generare il lago. Il Wörthersee è tra le attrazioni principali della città. In estate offre nuoto, vela, surf, sci nautico e giri con la bici, d'inverno occasione per pattinare lunga la superficie ghiacciata, ma anche per una semplice passeggiata dopo pranzo.
ENGLISH..A dragon is the symbol of this city and a body of water is the environment in which it is developed. In the video I shot on the occasion of my visit several years ago when Youtube didn't exist yet. I tried to represent the main attractions of the place. In Klagenfurt, capital of Carinthia, there is a provincial and boring atmosphere and boring which disappears during the Christmas markets, the finest in Alpe Adria. The Neuen Platz, home to the Town Hall in neoclassical style, is the most important place of the city when to celebrate. Here is located the City Hall but there is also the Lindwurm, the legendary Dragon of the saga that recounts the Foundation of Klagenfurt. In the immediate vicinity you will find the monument erected at Empress Maria Theresa of Austria.
In Pfarrplatz the Bell Tower of Saint Egid offers a viewing platform at 50 m height from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the old town.The Alter Platz, rectangular shape where the palaces in Baroque style and the best shopping in the city. It is a pedestrian area as well as the Kramergasse which is one of the oldest streets of Klagenfurt. As you can see on the floor shows the coats of arms of all twin towns of Klagenfurt. Not far away stands the statue of the little man with the cask from which legend has it is leaking such a quantity of water to be submerge the town they live in the sin and generate the lake. The Wörthersee is one of the main attractions of the city. In summer it offers swimming, sailing, surfing, water-skiing and tours by bike, in winter opportunity to skate along the frozen surface, but also for a simple walk after lunch.
