Samurai With Guns: Kintai Bridge Festival Antique Firearms Display [Iwakuni, Japan]

The Kintai Bridge Festival (also known as the Kintaikyo Bridge Festival) is an annual event that happens on April 29th. This is a national holiday in Japan. There are two parts to the event. The first is a firearms display and the second is a parade over the KIntaikyo.

The firearms display begins at 1pm and takes place on the riverbank where the parking is. You can easily access the display and then walk over to the bridge where you can enjoy the rest of the event.

THE EVENT IS FREE HOWEVER PARKING DOES COST 300 YEN PER CAR 1000 PER BUS. Please be aware of that if you are planning on attending the event.

I arrived around 12:20 and there was plenty of parking available in the lot, however the traffic was pretty bad. Although it wasn't anything that couldn't be navigated, it might make you feel like all hope is lost. IT'S NOT! Power through and make your way to the parking lot. You'll be fine.
