Hawaiian Monk Seal at Kuilima Cove, Oahu
This Hawaiian monk seal (Monachus schauinslandi) hauled him/herself out in the northern section of Turtle Bay Resort (known as Kuilima Cove) on the North Shore of Oahu.
NOAA notes the most recent estimates as of late 2014/early 2015 as between 1,100 and 1,400 individuals. Most of these individuals are distributed up in the more more northern stretches of the Hawaiian archipelago, but I am hearing more and more anecdotal reports of monk seals coming ashore in the main Hawaiian Island chain in recent years...a possibly hopeful sign that some recovery is happening. Before this siting, I can only recall seeing wild monk seals in Kauai.

Oahu Island, Hawaii, USA
Recorded: May 2019
Oahu Island is home to roughly one million people - about two-thirds of the population of the U.S. state of Hawaii. The city of Honolulu, largest city, state capital, and main deepwater marine port for the State of Hawaiʻi is located here.
Well-known features found on Oʻahu include Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, Diamond Head, Hanauma, Kaneʻohe Bay, Kailua Bay, North Shore.
I spent five days on Oahu Island, drove 340 miles by car and visited, incl. the places described below. My hotel was in Honolulu.

Hawaii Adventures pt 2: The famous North Shore @ Turtle Bay Resort & The Road to Hana Road trip.
In this second part video of my adventures in Hawaii. I got a chance to experience the famous and best resort in the north shore of Oahu. The Fabled North Shore Paradise Resort call Turtle Bay Resort. This place is an amazing resort that I recommend anyone to visit if you get a chance to go. I was only able to stay for only one night but I definitely look forward in staying here again in the future for more days.
The next day I took a cruise from Norwegian Cruiseline and traveled to Maui one of the other islands that are part of Hawaii. While here I rented a Jeep Wrangler and did a road trip to the other thought the famous road called Road to Hana. I went through beach line, forest, hike waterfall, and finally got to experience black sand beach which is a popular destination on the Road to Hana. I hope you guy enjoy my video of my part 2 adventures here in Hawaii. Remember to Like & Subscribe to be notified for more videos like these.

A Day On The Land at Kahuku Point
Volunteers from our Hawaiian Electric ohana spent a day on the land at Kahuku Point, helping to remove invasive plants and trees, pick-up marine debris and plant new native plants on Saturday, August 20, 2016. Thanks to the efforts of the Trust for Public Land and the U.S. Army, the land surrounding Turtle Bay Resort, including the Kahuku Point coastal sand dunes has been safeguarded from development. Kahuku Point is one of the few remaining intact coastal strands on Oahu, the point is home to Hawaiian monk seals, green sea turtles, and other endangered plants and animals, and is a popular destination for hiking and fishing.

It’s a town located along the Pacific Ocean, west of the Makaha Valley, and at the foot of Mt. Ka'ala in the Wai’anae Mountain Range. It is the last of the leeward towns on O'ahu. North of Makaha is little development, i.e. no towns, no gas stations, or restaurants. Sharks Cove Winter
The waves at Sharks Cove are spectacular in the Winter. With the natural rock wall in place, normally creating a calm pool within that is great for snorkeling, the waves have something to crash against during the months of oceanic tumult. It is a sight to behold - absolutely mesmerizing.
Me Snorkeling in Hawaii (Oahu and Kauai)
Me snorkeling in Hawaii on the islands of Oahu and Kauai, including Hanauma Bay, Kuilima Cove, Lawai Beach, Ke'e Beach, and Tunnels Beach. In all my swimming adventures I have never swam with anything as memorable as the Triggerfish, Butterflyfish, Tang, and Surgeonfish in the South Pacific Ocean. It was like I was swimming in the tropical fish tank in the waiting room at the dentist office. ...Just a few places I've been.
