Shimogoten
Shimogoten is located in Ryujin onsen of Wakayama prefecture. Ryujin onsen is an old onsen with 1,300-year history in the onsen village at the upstream of the Hidaka river. It is located at the entrance of the Ryujin-Koya Skyline Highway that links the World Heritage site, Koyasan and the Kumano area. It is a perfect place to stop and relax between these two sacred places.
Ryujin onsen's smooth and silky waters are well known for making skin beautiful and is one of Japan's three famous Bijin-no-yu or Beautifying Hot Springs. The hotel offers variety of onsen baths, including open air bath, inside bath, coed bath, bath with tatami floor, and private bath.
Shimogoten has Main & New Tower. There are regular Japanse rooms, Japanese rooms with private bath, Suite rooms, and Western rooms (Single use). All Japanese rooms are facing Hidaka river and have own bath and toilet.
From Kansai International Airport (KIX); 10 minutes to Hineno station by JR Kansai International Airport Line. Transfer to express train to Kii Tanabe station for 90 minutes. Then 80 minutes by Ryujin Bus to Ryujin Onsen.
From Haneda International Airport (HND); 60 minutes to Nanki Shirahama Airport by domestic flight. Take Meiko bus for 40 minutes to Kii Tanabe station. Then 80 minutes by Ryujin Bus to Ryujin Onsen.
Rates are based on double occupancy. Charges for extra adults may apply and will be due directly to the hotel.

Iwaki Tourism Promotion Video - Mountains
【Healing spots recommended by university students in Iwaki】 There are many healing spots in the mountainous area of Iwaki. We especially recommend three nice spots in this video. Momo Café is a hideout café in a peaceful mountainside. Next to the café is Gallary Karu, which is a stylish gallery with mud walls. Ryujinkyo is a famous place for autumn leaves. You can also enjoy and relax at other nice restaurants and cafés in the mountainous area of Iwaki. In this video, produced by NGA, a student organization of Iwaki Meisei University, a woman falls asleep and has a dream of the healing spots in Iwaki during her work. Please enjoy their performance!
【The back ground of this Iwaki Tourist PV production】 Iwaki Meisei University received an offer to make this PV from the Hotel Business Liaison Council & Iwaki Chamber of Commerce Industry. Then, the volunteer group members of NGA launched a project team named IMU Iwaki Activation Team to make PVs about Iwaki city. With a supervising editor, Mr. Hidemi Takahagi, a professional of video production from ifeels Inc, it took five months to complete this project. Totally, five PVs with five respective themes, “Night Views,” “Mountains,” “Sea”, “Hot Spring” and “Gourmet” were made. #iwakipv
