Kumejima Ocean Energy
Kume Island (Kumejima Town) in Okinawa is home to many cultural and historic sites, however, its largest resource is the ocean surrounding it. With the largest Deep Seawater capacity in Japan, Kumejima has built up fishery, industry, and now power from the ocean resource. Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) uses the temperature difference between surface and deep water to create power. Since 2013, the Okinawa OTEC Demonstration Facility on Kumejima has produced renewable clean energy that can operate 24/7. Kumejima (久米島) is an island, part of the Okinawa Islands. It is located about 90 kilometers west of Okinawa Island. Kumejima offers a much less developed version of the beaches and Okinawan culture. Kumejima is quite small, and traveling from one end of the island to another rarely involves a trip longer than ten kilometers.
Kumejima has two major towns; one is located around the port. Another is inhabited mostly by locals, while the other is a small town of hotels, dining halls and shops catering to the tourists, located alongside
Uezu Residence
The Uezu Residence was built in 1750 for a high ranked family. It is built in the traditional Okinawan style with thick stone walls and red-tiled roofs. The house cannot be entered but only viewed from the outside.

In Kumejima, there few public transportation service. Rental car is the most convenient way to travel around the island.

'Building Osaka' is a series that is reminiscent of my original 'Building Tokyo' series I did for SimCity (2013). In this series, I attempt to faithfully recreate Osaka down to the fine details. Okinawa Prefecture (Japanese: 沖縄県, Hepburn: Okinawa-ken, Okinawan: ウチナー Uchinaa) is the southernmost prefecture of Japan. It encompasses two thirds of the Ryukyu Islands in a chain over 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) long. The Ryukyu Islands extend southwest from Kagoshima Prefecture in Kyushu (the southwesternmost of Japan's four main islands) to Taiwan. Naha, Okinawa's capital, is located in the southern part of Okinawa Island.Although Okinawa Prefecture comprises just 0.6 percent of Japan's total land mass, about 75 percent of all United States military personnel stationed in Japan are assigned to installations in the prefecture. Currently about 26,000 U.S. troops are based in the prefecture.

Kuil Yoshino Mikumari merupakan kuil Shinto kecil yang terletak diatas area Kami Senbon di Yoshinoyama. Kuil tenteram ini didedikasikan untuk Ameno Mikumari, dewi yang berhubungan dengan air, kesuburan dan kelahiran selamat, yang dipercaya akan memberikati orang-orang yang berdoa padanya dengan kesuburan. Kuil ini memiliki kuil kuno portebel (mikoshi) dan artefak yang dipajang dan merupakan satu dari empat kuil mikumari yang ada di Jepang.
Ruang utama kuil saat ini kembali dibangun pada tahun 1604 oleh Toyotomi Hideyori, anak laki-laki dari Hideyoshi, dan mewakili style artitektural yang unik dari jaman Momoyama.
