The biggest attraction in Kolad is the ‘Kundalika River Rafting’. The source of Kundalika River is from Tamhini Ghat and it flows through Kolad village and is a perfect place for rafting for amateurs. This rafting activity is conducted between two dams which are about 12 km apart. Rafting starts from the lower side of Bhira Dam and runs into Dolwahal Dam and since there is no unfamiliar changes in the levels of water this river is highly safe and has been recognized as water sports hub. Enjoy rafting in this 12 km water stretch which is full of exciting rapids of grade 3 type making it a fun-filled for 2 hour activity.

Trip To Kundalika River Rafting (Kolad)
Kundalika river rafting is the resulting opportunity discovered by adventure enthusiasts. After all, the cities of Mumbai and Pune are a mere 132 and 108 kilometers away respectively and is a regular haunt of both cities’ unending supply of rafting buffs.
A 14-kilometer stretch on the River Kundalika is dotted with enthralling rapids. The river also passes by a historically-important trade route with intricate stairways known popularly as Savalya Ghat; while traversing through picturesque surroundings over a period of two hours from the start.
The first rapid named ‘Good Morning Buddha’, seems to incite the divine before you face-off with more tumbling rapids. ‘Hilton’ and ‘Pump-house’ quickly follow, before you are in the ‘Fisherman’ rapid—which teems with fish and is a regular fishing haunt for the local folk. A tumble or two later, the river nudges forward into a beautiful set of waves gently unfolding at the ‘Butterfly’ rapid.
Suddenly after comes the ‘Crow’s Nest’, giving one a taste of the suddenness of rapids and drenches you completely by now. Next are a series of major rapids, with ‘Key Wave’ confirming that the earlier rapids were just a preview of what is to come. Remember to paddle hard over ‘Bush on the Bend’, which is in fact a half-submerged tree over which you wade through. ‘Morning Headache’ is where it gets tricky.
If one of the rafters fall into the water while trying to overcome the ferocious rapid, it becomes a headache to the instructor as there is no possible bailout over the two-kilometer long stretch. The interestingly named ‘John Kerry’ is a violent rapid that is bound to leave you gasping, even as ‘Johnny Walker’ intoxicates you with waves crashing into the raft from all sides.
