Suparsha Cave Kamalashile Kundapura
Sri Brahmi Durga Parameshwari Temple (Suparshwa Cave) is in Kundapur Taluk, Udupi District, Karnataka, India. Distance from Bangalore to Kundapur by train - 635 km then by bus to Siddhapur 27 km and from here to Kamalashile 8 km. Suparshwa cave is about 2 km from the temple on Halli Holle road. In Krutha Yuga, when King Suparshwa was searching for a suitable place to do penance & get moksha, He came across this cave & found it suitable. This was the reason to name this cave after king suparshwa. King Suparshwa prays lord Shiva to bless him to do penance without any hurdles. Lord Shiva appoints one of his ganas Bhairava to permanently stay at the entrance of the cave to make sure that king's penance is not disturbed. It is also said that lot of Rishi's and Maharajas have came to this cave to do
penance and one among them is Sri Sridhara Swamiji of Varadapura. At the entrance of the cave, Bhairava swamy idol is worshiped. A little down in the cave towards left are the 3 separate lingas:-- it is also called tri-shakti linga -- kali, Lakshmi, Saraswathi.
Further down towards right is the place where King Suparshwa,
Adi-Shesha & Sri Sridhara Swamy did penance for months & years. A little down into the cave, one can see the birth place of Naga Theertha, which flows between rocks and joins the river Kubja near Kamalashile temple. Next further inside is the Naga Sannidi. Here there is a high dome where one can see hundreds of bats settled. To visit Suparsha cave, do take assistance from one of the temple staff and carry a torch without fail. Kamalashile is surrounded by beautiful mountains and evergreen forests with the river Kubja flowing by the side of it. Kamalashile is famous for its ancient Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari temple located in heart of the village. The name Kamalashile takes after the stone Linga. Goddess Sri Brahmi Durgaparameshwari is worshiped in the form of a Linga, which is said to be convergence of Goddesses Mahakali, Maha Lakshmi and Maha Saraswathi. Pilgrims get accommodation facilities, free meals 3 times a day and other facilities. In this temple the devotees are treated as their guests.

Ganesh Chaturthi (IAST: Gaṇēśa Chaturthī), also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi (Vināyaka Chaturthī) or Vinayaka Chavithi (Vināyaka Chavithī) is a Hindu festival celebrating the birth of Ganesha.[2] A ten-day festival, it starts on the fourth day of Hindu Lunisolar calendar month Bhadrapada, which typically falls in the months of August or September of the Gregorian calendar. The festival is marked with the installation of Ganesha clay idols privately in homes, or publicly on elaborate pandals (temporary stages). Observations include chanting of Vedic hymns and Hindu texts such as Ganapati Upanishad, prayers and vrata (fasting).[2] Offerings and prasadam from the daily prayers, that is distributed from the pandal to the community, include sweets such as modaka believed to be a favorite of the elephant-headed deity.[3][4] The festival ends on the tenth day after start, wherein the idol is carried in a public procession with music and group chanting, then immersed in a nearby body of water such as a river or ocean. In Mumbai alone, around 150,000 statues are immersed annually.[5] thereafter the clay idol dissolves and Ganesha is believed to return to Mount Kailash to Parvati and Shiva.[2][6]

Shankaranarayana Temple, Kundapura
Shankaranarayana is a village in Kundapura taluk of Udupi district in the state of Karnataka in India. Shankaranarayana is considered as one of the seven holy places created by Maharshi Parashurama. This is one of the rare temples where we can see the sangam (confluence) of Shankara (Lord Shiva) and Narayana (Lord Vishnu). Shankaranarayana village, named after the temple, is located in the valley of mountain ranges close to the Sahyadris. It is located in Udupi District, Karnataka, 25KM from the Arabian Sea. The main deity of Shankaranarayana Temple is in the form of Udbhava Linga. The naturally formed lingam of Lord Shankara and Lord Narayana is one feet below the ground, inside the Garbhagudi. The devotees can only see the mirror image of the lingam. The Shankara Linga is on the right (left as seen by the devotees) and Narayana Linga on the left. While Shankara Lingam is in round shape, where as Narayana Linga is a flat one with foot prints of holy cow in it. Devotees believe that these were foot prints of Kamadhenu (holy cow) which had stood here for dripping milk on the Shankara Linga. There is water around Udbhava Linga at any time of the year. This holy water is called Suddhamrita Theertha. Koti theertha is located in front of the temple. Devotees coming to this temple first make prokshana of this theertha and then make darshan of Lord Shankaranarayana. The pond has rich spiritual bearing. Rituals such as Pitratarpana and Theerthasnana are held at this pond. Koti theertha stands out as most beautifyl and vast of all the twenty one ponds found around this place. Shankaranarayana is also known as Kroda after Kroda Maharshi. In the 24th Chapter of Pushkara Kaanda in Padma Purana, one can find a beautiful description of Krodha Shankaranarayana. According to this, the demons Kharasura and Rattasura were ill-treating common people. Kroda Maharshi meditated Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu together and prayed them come in the form of Lord Shankaranarayana. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, pleased with the meditation of Krodha Maharshi, came to this place as Shankaranarayana and killed Kharasura and Rattasura. The hill beside the Shankaranarayana Temple, atop which Krodha Maharshi meditated Lord Shankaranarayana, is named as Kroda Giri. The idol of Lord Shankaranarayana along with Godess Gowri and Godess Lakshmi are at the top of Kroda Giri. The Guhe (Cave) in which Kroda used meditate atop the Kroda Giri Parvatha (Hill). This is 6 foot wide cave with a 2-feet wide entrance.
