This is a Spiti valley day 4 how i was spend on day 3 i stayed at tara homestay at mudh its was a nice experience in morning we leaved mudh at go for dhankhar monastery is a oldest monastery in laual an spiti its as i know more than 1000 year old. After seeing Dhankhar we went for tabo monastery inside the monastery there is a lot of good messages written . Then we went for Gue Village is famous for Mummy which is more than 500 year old by entering the gue village road we all suddenly scared because of the river water color is black .After that back to Gue Village and stay at homestay .

The beautiful Dhankar Village is one of the most stunning attractions in Lahual and Spiti Valley, a home to the most beautiful and awe-inspiring Dhankar Monastery and Dhankar Fort that are perched on the top of the hill in Dhankar. Dhankar is located in the cold desert of Spiti Valley and looks like a bowl-shaped structure in the hills. It looks almost as if all the old Dhankar houses and fort have emerged straight from the mountains with their back wall being merged on the hill.

Tabo Monastery : Ajanta of the Himalayas in Spiti Valley

Tabo Monastery, also known as the 'Ajanta of the Himalayas,' is one of the most popular monasteries in the Lahaul and Spiti Valley and was founded more than a millennium back in 996 A.D. This ancient structure stands on the barren, cold, and rocky desert of the Tabo valley at a dizzying height of 3050 meters above sea level. This untouched beauty has preserved the glorious heritage, traditions, and culture of Buddhism through the passage of centuries. According to the Tibetan Calendar, the Tabo Monastery is believed to have been established in the year of the Fire Ape, by a great teacher and translator Lotsawa Rinchen Tsang Po, the king of the western Himalayan Kingdom of Guge.

Kaza or Kaja is the sub divisional headquarters of Spiti division of the Lahul & Spiti District of Himachal Pradesh. Akin to Ladakh it is a cold desert and has some very interesting treks & outings like Pin Valley National Park via Atargo, Kye Monastery, Kibber Village, Komic Village and Langza which is famous for its pre-historic relics in form of fossils.

'Monk for a Month' - Spiti 2013

An adventure to Spiti in the Trans-Himalayan area of Himachal Pradesh, India. Organised by Spiti Ecosphere, our group travelled from the Tibetan colony of Manju-Ka-Tilla in Delhi, via Manali, to explore the Spiti region and spend time studying Tibetan Buddhism in the monastery in Kungri in the remote Pin Valley. Visits were made to the monasteries of Tabo, Dhankar, Kaza, Key, Dharamsala, Manali and Komic. We were honoured to be taught by HH Dalai Lama in McLeod Ganj.
