1. Kalap village in Uttarkashi district-

2. Kunjkharak village in Nainital district-
A mirror to the mighty Himalayas, Kunjkharak is perched at an altitude of 2,323 metres above sea level. This charming village is a home to the endangered Khoola moss which is used in making several cosmetic products. According to the famous legend, Bhojkahrak was the last place on earth where Lord Shiva was seen before making his way to heaven.

A home to several paradise birds, the pristine village of Pangot is one such place where the nature worshippers, solitude seekers, writers, and poets would like to make their heavenly abode. Any rider interested in deadend roads in Uttarakhand will like the destination of Kunjakharak. The road was mostly under repair / cosntruction but that was in Oct 09. Now it must be surfaced. Ask for Mohan, chowkidar and also Baz

A short and extremely rewarding trek in the foothills of Kumaon Himalayas, Corbett on Foot is a treat for trekkers as well as birders. The trail goes through dense jungles, passing remote villages of Kumaon and ends up at the Kunj Kharak periphery on the side of Nainital. The trail is at a relatively low altitude and therefore, is ideal for winters.

19 kms of torturous dirt track,from Pangot to Kotabagh, which we found out later was only used by mules and horses , at times :)
