A 158-member Bangladesh youth delegation has visited the stone forest of China. A 12-day Bangladesh-China Youth Camp 2019 has recently been held at Yunnan University of China.
The Stone Forest or Shilin is a notable set of limestone formations about 500 km2 located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, People's Republic of China, near Shilin approximately 90 km from the provincial capital Kunming.
The tall rocks seem to arise from the ground in a manner somewhat reminiscent of stalagmites, or with many looking like petrified trees, thereby creating the illusion of a forest made of stone. Since 2007, two parts of the site, the Naigu Stone Forest (乃古石林) and Suogeyi Village (所各邑村), have been UNESCO World Heritage Sites as part of the South China Karst. The site is classified as a AAAAA-class tourist site.

This video is the most attractive one, where our team captured in High Definition (HD) videos. Our teacher guide, Chinese friends are also shown here. Most attractive things of the video are hills and tunnels. Our road inters into the hill what is called tunnel. This is not an ordinary tunnel but very nice to look at. It becomes very attractive because of its faint lightings and nice decoration. Such kinds of nice tunnels are not commonly visible in the world that enriched china tourism and encyclopedia of china. This 7.07 seconds video shows us the over view of china adventure tours. Our small group tours in china become more fruitful as this nice sightseeing of china. China land tours enriched our experience and helped our mind to be broad and wide, which is shown in this HD video on China. Yunnan Shilin (China) Vacation Travel Video Guide
Travel video about destination Yunnan Shilin in China.
Even though the province of Yunnan in the southwest of China is one of the country's poorest regions, the Stone Forest Of Shilin whose bizarre rock formations rise up to thirty metres into the sky is one of the country's most beautiful natural treasures. Erosion formed Yunnan's amazing natural works of art while the earth's crust began almost imperceptibly to rise moving the forest's pinnacles higher into the sky. The Chinese created some extremely descriptive names for the various rocky areas of Yunnan Shilin such as 'The Cluster Of Pinnacles That Supports The Sky', just one of many colourful names given to the rock formations. During special holidays the landscape is an atmospheric backdrop for the traditional wrestling and bullfights of the Sani people. The exceptional natural splendour and breathtaking diversity of the amazing natural trees of stone have transformed Shilin into one of China's most amazing and dramatic sightseeing destinations.

Stone forest in Kunming, Yunnan (Chinese province) is a set of limestone formations about 500 km2 located in Shilin Yi Autonomous County, Yunnan Province, China, near Shilin approximately 90 km (56 mi) from the provincial capital Kunming. During my Kunming China travel I had the privilege to experience this enormous beautiful engendered article of nature in Kunming city China. The gigantic stalagmites generate tree like illusions. As a result the area is called stone forest.
Many interesting legends originate in this Yunnan stone forest, passed along by the native people known as Sani, a branch of the Yi ethnic group. One particular story about the faithful love of Ashima, a beautiful, clever and warm-hearted Sani girl, is the most popular and has been told for thousands of years. The Sani people celebrate their national festival - the Torch Festival - every lunar year on June 24. They take part in traditional performances such as wrestling, bull fighting, pole-climbing, dragon-playing, lion-dancing and the A-xi Moon Dance. During Kunming china travel, the place is alive with a particularly joyful, festive atmosphere, making the area even more attractive than usual. However, the Stone Forest - with its sculptures engraved by nature, herself - is always a true miracle for visitors to behold.

Wushu/Kung Fu School in Kunming, China - Part 1
Sifu Terry Hodgkinson aka wandering ninja stays in Kunming, China and spends time with a renowned Sifu (kung fu teacher). The lighting for this video was very low in the school. After the video was compressed for the internet it seems to have a flicker which makes it difficult to see well. Look for part 2 and 3 as they were shot in much better light so the quality will be better!
The Sifu is the son of a very famous teacher who started the school many years ago. I was able to spend time at his school and learn about so many different approaches to Wushu and the more traditional Kung Fu (gong fu) methods of training from the Wudang lineage. You will see both some old (traditional) and new (wushu) demonstrated in the small amount of video I took while there. The Sifu here has students from all over the world that come to train. It was a great honour to be invited into to the Sifu's house and spend some personal time with him, which you will see at the end of the video. - Terry
Background on Sifu's legendary father:
Sifu Sha Guozheng was born in 1904, in Jung Chan County, Shandong Province. It was an area renowned for martial artists and Sha began training at a very early age. He loved to read the Wuxia novels, still popular in China today, about good martial artists triumphing the cause of the poor and oppressed. When young he studied with many different masters and many different styles.
At the age of 16 he moved to Kao Shou, and studied hard for 5 years learning a variety of forms including Shi Lu Tan Tui (10 Roads Springing Legs), Liu He Qiang (6 Harmony Spear), Si Men Dao (4 gate Broadsword), etc. In 1920 he met his first Bagau Zhang teacher, Wang Che-Cheng (a student of Dong Hai-Chuan's student Wang Li-Te.) He learned Lion style Bagua Zhang and Baxian Jian (8 Immortal Sword) from him.
In 1926 he moved to Tianjin, near Beijing, and began to study with Jiang Rong-Qiao. Sha was a very serious student and hard-working student. At this time he learned Bagua Zhang, Xingyi Quan, Taiji Quan. One night in 1928 Sha left the Tianjin Martial Arts Training Association building after practice and was going home. On his way there he saw three drunken, foreign sailors taking liberties with a Chinese woman. Sha became very angry and in a short space of time had rescued the lady and flattened the foreigners. For this act the Tianjin Martial Arts Training Association began to call him Shao Shitou (Little Stone) as he was small in size, but was as hard and fast as a stone skimming over water. They also honoured him with a couplet The foreign toads lusting over the swan's flesh; the small stone punishing the foreign devils.
In 1931 Sha moved to Korea to continue his studies with Wang Che-Cheng. Korea was under Japanese rule at this time. A Japanese soldier came to Wang's school after seeing Sha demonstrating at a festival. He wanted to spar with Sha, he was happy to and asked the soldier to choose his weapon, a long spear, he gave Sha a sword. The Japanese soldier had a reputation as being a fierce fighter with little regard for others. Sha simply evaded his attacks without countering. Finally when the soldier became unsure of his strategy Sha attacked hitting his opponent with the flat blade on the shoulder. With arm paralysed the soldier was beaten.
Moving to Anhui in 1946 Sha invited Jiang Rong-Qiao to teach at the Wuhu Martial Arts School. He lived with Sha for 6 months both researching wushu. This formed the basis for his later books.
Master Sha moved to Kumning in 1949 and met Peng Qing and He Fu-Sheng, among other great wushu masters. After the Cultural Revolution Sha became coach for the Yunnan Wushu team. Master Sha was also proficient in medicine having spent time gathering healing skills from his many Shifu's. Sha healed many people always refusing payment. In 1983 he gave his medical formulas to the Government for the benefit of others. Master Sha Guozheng passed away in 1992.

China Yunnan Aerial View / Beautiful Colorful Yunnan Travel Video
This itinerary describes a popular route to some of the major tourist attractions of Yunnan. Of course, it leaves various other popular places uncovered, notably the tropical paradise Xishuangbanna and the trip west toward Ruili at the border with Myanmar.
The big attractions of this route are as follows:
The lovely old cities of Dali and Lijiang, both former capitals of small kingdoms and both major tourist towns today
Sensational trekking areas, notably Tiger Leaping Gorge near Lijiang or, going further afield, Three Parallel Rivers National Park
Mountainous areas and Tibetan peoples in Northern Yunnan, around Zhongdian and Deqin
The various places on the route feel quite different to the traveler:
Dali feels like a backpacker hangout, similar to Yangshuo; there are Western restaurants and tourists everywhere.
Lijiang is among the most beautiful cities in China and the Chinese have certainly noticed; there are tour groups everywhere.
Zhongdian (now Shangrila) feels more like a Tibetan town than a city in central China.
What they all have in common are mountainous scenery, interesting architecture, ethnic minorities and lovely handicrafts — wood, silver and especially fabric items.
Brock Carmichael Animation for Shilin Stone Forest Cultural Resort in China (Chinese)
Brock Carmichael Architects was shortlisted in an international design competition to design two Lots for the Shilin Stone Forest Cultural Resort in Yunnan Province, South West China.
Lot C was to contain primarily residential development comprising of executive housing for the holiday home market and a small quantum of economic displacement housing together with a substantial leisure and entertainment offering.
Lot D/E was to contain retail, fine food outlet, a performing arts centre, local Yi museum, outdoor events space and a 300 bedroom 5* hotel.
The two Lots were adjacent to each other within the overall resort masterplan, allowing for the creation of an integrated design to cover both sites.
This video shows the fly-thoughs and explains some of the finer detail of the project.
Snow Mountain, China
Snow Mountain
We climbed the China yunnan lijiang jade dragon snow mountain(2019)
From Jade Dragon Snow Mountain to old town of Lijiang, you will experience the breathtaking sceneries and cultures.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain (simplified Chinese: 玉龙雪山; traditional Chinese: 玉龍雪山; pinyin: Yùlóng Xuěshān) is a mountain massif or small mountain range in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang, in Yunnan province, China. Its highest peak is named Shanzidou (扇子陡) and is 5,596 m (18,360 ft) above sea level.
The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain massif forms the bulk of the larger Yulong Mountains, that stretch further north. The northwestern flank of the massif forms one side of the Tiger Leaping Gorge (Hutiao Xia, 虎跳峡), which has a popular trekking route on the other side. In this gorge, the Jinsha (upper Yangtze) River descends dramatically between Jade Dragon and Haba Snow Mountain. The Yulong Mountains lie to the south of the Yun Range and are part of Southwest China's greater Hengduan Mountains.[5]
Settlements surrounding Jade Dragon Snow Mountain include Baisha Town to the south, Longpan Township to the west, Daju Township to the northeast, and Jade Water Village at the foot of the mountain to the east

SUMMARY
=======
Yunnan (云南) is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the far southwest of the country. It spans approximately 394,000 square kilometres (152,000 sq mi) and has a population of 45.7 million (as of 2009). The capital of the province is Kunming, formerly also known as Yunnan. The province borders the Chinese provinces Guangxi, Guizhou, Sichuan, and the Tibet Autonomous Region, and the countries Vietnam, Laos, and Myanmar.
Yunnan is situated in a mountainous area, with high elevations in the northwest and low elevations in the southeast. Most of the population lives in the eastern part of the province. In the west, the altitude can vary from the mountain peaks to river valleys as much as 3,000 metres (9,800 ft). Yunnan is rich in natural resources and has the largest diversity of plant life in China. Of the approximately 30,000 species of higher plants in China, Yunnan has perhaps 17,000 or more. Yunnan's reserves of aluminium, lead, zinc and tin are the largest in China, and there are also major reserves of copper and nickel.
The Han Empire first recorded diplomatic relations with the province at the end of the 2nd century BC. It became the seat of a Sino-Tibetan-speaking kingdom of Nanzhao in the 8th century AD. Nanzhao was multi-ethnic, but the elite most-likely spoke a northern dialect of Yi. The Mongols conquered the region in the 13th century, with local control exercised by warlords until the 1930s. From the Yuan dynasty onward, the area was part of a central-government sponsored population movement towards the southwestern frontier, with two major waves of migrants arriving from Han-majority areas in northern and southeast China. As with other parts of China's southwest, Japanese occupation in the north during World War II forced another migration of majority Han people into the region. These two waves of migration contributed to Yunnan being one of the most ethnically diverse provinces of China, with ethnic minorities accounting for about 34 percent of its total population. Major ethnic groups include Yi, Bai, Hani, Zhuang, Dai and Miao.
