Kusuma Sarovara, a beautiful sandstone monument, is a 25-minute walk from Radha Kunda. Kusuma means “flower,” and here the gopis would pick flowers for Krishna. Kusuma Sarovara is the best swimming spot in Braja. After you go to Radha Kunda you could spend a relaxing hour here. It is a peaceful place, which not many people visit. During Lord Caitanya’s time this place was known as Sumanah Sarovara. It is stated in the Caitanya Caritamrita that Lord Caitanya took bath here. The ghatas at this kunda and the buildings above the kunda were built by Jawahir Singh, the king of Bharatpur around 1764, in honor of his father Raja Suraj Mall. Suraj Mall attacked the Mughal King of Delhi and was killed in the battle. His son Jawahir Singh then attacked Delhi and killed the Mughal king. On the upper level are three tombs. The main tomb of Raja Suraj Mall has beautiful paintings on its ceiling depicting the pastimes of Krishna and the lotus feet of Krishna engraved on the floor. There are also some paintings of Raja Suraj Mall in his court. The other tombs are those of his two queens, Kishori and Hansiya. There are beautiful paintings on the ceiling of these two tombs. There is also a Giriraja Temple here.

कुसुम सरोवर भारत के उत्तर प्रदेश राज्य के मथुरा जिले में स्थिति है। यह सरोवर गोवर्धन और राधा कुंड के बीच पवित्र गोवर्धन हिल पर एक ऐतिहासिक बलुआ पत्थर की स्मारक है। स्मारक के पास नारद कुंड हैं, जहां नारद ने भक्ति सूत्र छंद लिखे थे। साथ ही यहां श्री राधा वाना बिहारी मंदिर भी मौजूद है। यह स्थान देखने में बहुत ही खूबसूरत है जो पर्यटकों को काफी हद तक अपनी ओर आकर्षित करता है। कुसुम सरोवर वही स्थान है जहां भगवान कृष्ण राधा से मिला करते थे।
यह स्थान रास क्रीड़ा के लिए भी जाना जाता था। लेकिन इस स्थान से एक ऐसा तथ्य भी जुड़ा है जो इसे रहस्यमयी बनाने का काम करता है। आगे जानिए क्या है इस तालाब के पीछे की रहस्यमयी कहानी।
एक पवित्र स्थान होने के बावजूद कुसुम सरोवर से एक चौका देने वाला तथ्य इसे रहस्यमी तालाब बनाने का काम करता है। यहां के लोगों का मानना है कि इस तालाब में पारस पत्थर और एक इच्छाधारी नाग की मणि है। जब इन बेशकीमती चीजों के बारे में लोगों को पता चला तो उन्होंने इन्हें पाने की पूरी कोशिश की।
लेकिन कोई भी सरोवर के उस मार्ग तक नहीं पहुंच सका जहां पारस और नागमणि रखे हुए हैं। माना जाता है इस मणि के चक्कर में कई लोगों ने अपनी हालात बिगाड़ ली थी। जो भी मणि की खोज में यहां पहुंचा या तो वो कोढ़ी हो गया या फिर वो अंधा हो गया।
उत्तर प्रदेश के मथुरा शहर में स्थित गोवर्धन से लगभग 2 किलोमीटर दूर राधा घाट के पास है ऐतिहासिक कुसुम सरोवर जो 450 फीट लंबा और 60 फीट गहरा है. प्राचीन सरोवर को मध्य प्रदेश के बुंदेला राजा वीर सिंह देव ने 17वीं शताब्दी में बनवाया था. इसके बाद राजा सूरजमल ने इसका जीर्णोद्धार कराकर इसे भव्य सरोवर का स्वरूप प्रदान किया. सरोवर के पश्चिम में राजा सूरजमल के बेटे राजा जवाहर सिंह ने अपने पिता और अपनी तीनों माताओं की याद में एक ऊंचे चबूतरे पर छतरियों का निर्माण करवाया

Kusum Sarovar - A Hidden Gem of Mathura
Kusum Sarovar is a deep reservoir filled with emerald green water. It is believed to be from the era of Radha-Krishna. Marked by numerous stairs fringing the lake on all sides, it is bordered by a beautiful forest that bore flowers like beli, chameli, juhi, yuthi, mallika and campaka. Kusuma Sarovar is set against a milieu of exotic palatial buildings made of sandstone. These structures were erected by Javahir Singh commemorating his father Raja Suraj Mal, the famous king of Bharatpur. Perfect for those quiet evening outs, Kusum Sarovar’s calm and tranquil environment is its major attraction. A whole evening can be spent here, witnessing the retreating sun while resting under the lush grooves of the Kadamb tree on which the mischievous Krishna used to play and hide. There are numerous small ashrams near the lake. Take a trip to one of the ashrams to attend the evening prayers and sanctify your soul.

State changes after 5 kms
After about five kilometers from the place where Govardhan is revolving, the border of Rajasthan is started. Govardhan Mountain is spread over an area of about 10 km, with half of its share in Rajasthan and half of it in the state of Uttar Pradesh. There is a temple of Durga Mata in the middle of this border. It is situated only a short distance from here, it is very old, this place is very old, this place is also called Rajasthan umbrella.
