Video is the part of the Islands of Dhamma made by VRI. Islands of Dhamma shows different Vipassana learning centres across the world.
Dhamma Bhanu, meaning Luminosity of Dhamma, is located in the beautiful countryside of northern Kyoto prefecture, about two hours by train and bus from Kyoto Station.
The year 2006 will see new developments for Dhamma Bhanu and for the spread of Dhamma in Japan. A major road construction is scheduled to be completed next to the Centre land,a and this has forced the Japan Vipassana Association to look for another site to continue courses throughout the year while work is going on. The JVA trust has decided to use this opportunity to establish a new Centre in the Kanto area, near to Tokyo. The search for the new Centre land has now started and there is a lot of enthusiasm among the meditators to establish this second Centre near to the capital.
The main building of Dhamma Bhanu includes the meditation hall and has 15 rooms with the capacity for 70 students and workers to stay comfortably.
Dhamma Bhanu runs courses throughout the year, including twenty 10-day courses, two Satipatthana courses, one 20-day course, one short course and two children's courses.
