BARCELONA BEACH WALK along Barceloneta Beach Promenade | Spain
A first-person perspective Barcelona walk tour of Barceloneta Beach along the long promenade that stretches alongside the beautiful and busy beach.
Experience all of the sights and sounds as Watched Walker (yes, I’m talking about myself in the third person!) takes us on a walking tour through the streets of Barcelona, featuring Barcelona Beaches, with Barceloneta Beach being one of the most popular. The tour begins looking towards Sant Sebastià Beach and the Hotel W Barcelona, then turns and follows the promenade north along Sant Miguel and Barceloneta Beaches, finishing near the ‘Golden Fish’ at Port Olímpic.
Sights seen along the tour include Barceloneta Beach, Sant Sebastià Beach, Sant Miguel Beach, Hotel W Barcelona, La Deliciosa Barcelonesa, Tapa Tapa Xiringuito, ‘L´Estel Ferit’ or ‘The Wounded Star’ sculpture (four twisted, stacked cubes) by Rebecca Horn, and Frank Gehry’s golden fish sculpture ‘El Peix’.
And in each video I've hidden a blinking eye, can you spot it? (It could appear more than once). In addition to the blinking eye, I've also added the Watched Walker logo to various scenes–it could be on buildings, vehicles or any other objects, so keep an eye out for it too!
Footage recorded June 2017.

La Barceloneta beach is a must do when in Barcelona under the summer sun, and even in winter time. Full of life and buzzing with beach-bods year round, it’s the ideal place to chill out with a beer or picnic, soak up the atmosphere, cool off in the Mediterranean sea, try your hand at water-sports or beach-based games like volley-ball, or even catch a movie in the open-air on the outdoor cinema screen.
Easy to get to and close to the centre of Barcelona in a historic district, the beach is parallel to a stretch of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops, and offers the perfect golden canvass for the numerous sand artists proudly showing off their creations and sand-structures that will put your bucket & spade sand-castle to shame.

A Walk Around The Barceloneta Neighborhood, Barcelona
La Barceloneta is a neighborhood in the Ciutat Vella district of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. The neighborhood was constructed during the 18th century for the residents of the Ribera neighborhood who had been displaced by the construction of the Ciutadella of Barcelona. The neighborhood is roughly triangular, bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, the Moll d'Espanya of Port Vell, and the El Born neighborhood. This neighborhood even has its own flag. The neighborhood is serviced by its own stop on the Barcelona Metro. This is a good starting point for whatever itinerary there may be to adventure through La Barceloneta. The yellow line, L4, which is the metro line that stops at La Barceloneta, is the most popular for pickpocketing. The neighborhood can also be discovered by taking Las Gorondrinas, which leave from the front port of the Columbus monument. This way the marine strip can be discovered, but the real charm of this neighborhood is by getting lost in the side streets or alleyways. Torre Sant Sebastià is the terminus of the Port Vell Aerial Tramway; opened in 1931, it connects La Barceloneta with Montjuïc across Port Vell.
La Barceloneta is known for its sandy beach and its many restaurants and nightclubs along the boardwalk. Over the past several years the quality of the sand on the beach has become a source of continued controversy. In February 2008, the World Health Organisation began an inquiry designed to ascertain whether the sand meets WHO beach health and safety guidelines.
With its modernity, La Barceloneta continues to inhabit the scent of salt and marine life. For many, this is considered a luxury. La Barceloneta also attracts many cruise ships to dock.
