Segovia is a place of romance, a living legacy of the past in an inspiring setting. Perched on a rocky hilltop, this historic walled town boasts stunning views and magnificent monuments. The ancient Roman aqueduct, fairy-tale castle, awe-inspiring cathedral, exquisite Romanesque churches, and mystical monasteries reveal Segovia's rich cultural heritage. Segovia is steeped in complex history, from the Romans of 80 BC to the medieval Moorish period and the coronation of Queen Isabel I de Castilla (Isabel la Católica) in 1474 in Iglesia de San Miguel (included in this video), and in its streets you will find reminders of all these periods. The majority of Segovia's tourist attractions and things to do are found in the Old Town, an atmospheric medieval world of cobblestone streets, ancient alleyways, and charming squares. While discovering the top attractions, wander the narrow pedestrian lanes to find artisan boutiques, cafés, confectionary shops, and restaurants.

The Roman aqueduct is the symbol of Segovia and forms a magnificent backdrop for the historic city. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this monumental structure has stood the test of time, enduring two millennia in a remarkably well-preserved condition. The Segovia aqueduct is one of the two largest existing Roman structures in Spain. Built during the Flavio period around 50 AD, the aqueduct channeled water 17 kilometers from the Acebeda River in the Sierra de Fuenfría mountains through a deep valley to the ancient city. A feat of engineering, the structure was constructed from 20,400 granite blocks without any cement, and the rows of 167 arches have held together in perfect form to this day. The aqueduct begins near the Granja Palace outside of Segovia and transports water through a canal until it reaches the city. The best place to view this monument is at the Plaza del Azoguejo, the hub of the Old Town, where the aqueduct reaches its maximum height. The aqueduct ends at the Alcázar in an underground channel.

Segovia es una ciudad de la comunidad autónoma de Castilla y León, capital de la provincia del mismo nombre.
Se sitúa en la confluencia de los ríos Eresma y Clamores, al pie de la sierra de Guadarrama. La ciudad vieja y el acueducto de Segovia fueron declarados Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco en 1985.
El acueducto es considerado la obra de ingeniería civil romana más importante de España, y es uno de los monumentos más significativos y mejor conservados de la Antigua Roma en la península ibérica.

VISITING, the historic city of SEGOVIA. (You'll See Why) | Madrid Day Trips
September 16, 2019 / VLOG NO. 152 – I spent an entire day visiting the historic city of Segovia. It was an amazing experience, especially getting to see the ancient Roman aqueduct. Segovia has a huge historic city center, full of life and a mix of different architectural styles. I managed to also visit the Alcázar and the city's Gothic cathedral. If you have a few days to spend in and around Madrid, I highly recommend a visit to this city. You will not be disappointed!

IV Ciclo de Actividades en la Judería de Segovia
El jueves 17 de marzo arranca el IV Ciclo de Actividades en la Judería, un amplio y variado programa organizado por la Empresa Municipal de Turismo, Casa Sefarad-Israel y otros colaboradores, que se extiende de marzo a diciembre.
El Ciclo de Actividades, en torno al legado judío y la cultura judía actual en la sociedad española, incluye desde conferencias a talleres, pasando por exposiciones, conciertos, excusiones y actividades para los más pequeños.
La exposición del pintor Abel Rasskin, en la Sala de Exposiciones del Teatro Juan Bravo, es la actividad que abre el ciclo. La inauguración será el próximo jueves, 17 de marzo, a las 19:00 horas. Seguidamente, tendrá lugar una actuación de tango, a cargo del grupo Albarache.
La exposición podrá visitarse hasta el 7 de abril y estará abierta al público de miércoles a domingo en horario de 12:00 a 14:00 horas y de 17:00 a 20:00 horas, siempre que no haya espectáculos. La Diputación de Segovia colabora a través del Teatro Juan Bravo con en esta actividad.

La Judería de Toledo (4K)
Situada en la zona oeste de la ciudad, la Judería de Toledo es un intrincado laberinto de callejuelas y lugar donde antaño vivieron algunos de los hombres con más poder en la ciudad y en el Reino de Castilla.
Sinagogas y viviendas que en sus orígenes pertenecieron a judíos, y que según cuenta la leyenda, sus descendientes aún guardan las llaves de las mismas; son parte del legado de esta cultura en la ciudad.
El pueblo judío fue expulsado de Toledo y del Reino de Castilla en 1492 por decreto de los Reyes Católicos, quedando en la ciudad tan solo los conversos; en una patria a la que llamaban Sefarad
