Boating the LaHave River | Bridgewater | Nova Scotia | Canada
In this travel vlog we are going on a speed boat touring the LaHave River in Nova Scotia, Canada. The Lahave river is located just outside of Bridgewater, about an hour and a half outside Halifax.
This area is unique, as it's a spot where fresh and salt water meet. Part of the time we are in the river, the other part, in the ocean.
We had a lot of fun cruising and feeling the waves splash water up onto the boat!

The New PIJINUISKAQ PARK, Bridgewater NS
After a year of construction, a project designed to improve the façade of Bridgewater’s King Street is almost complete, despite a few concerns.
The Take Back the Riverbank project was started in November 2015 when a parkade was torn down so the space could be turned into a community park, which has been named Pijinuiskaq Park after the Mi’kmaq word for the LaHave River. - The Chronical Herald.

Gaff Point Hiking Trail | Halifax | Bridgewater | Subtitles | Nova Scotia | Canada
In this video we are hiking Gaff Point Hiking Trail in Nova Scotia, Canada.
This trail is location about 1-1.5 hours from the main city of Halifax, near a town called Bridgewater (and Lunenburg) - which is close to Hirtles Beach, NS.
There is a lot of parking at this trail, as there is also a pebble beach here. Once you leave the parking lot and get into the beach, walk all the way down to the end of the beach where you can access the Gaff Point Trail.
The trail is 3.5 kms long round trip. In total from the parking lot its a 6.5 kms trail including the section of beach you need to walk along in order to get to the trail head.
This is a fairly easy hike, with little elevation gain. You are exposed to wind for the majority of the hike, so dress like you're on the ocean!
This video contains subtitles if needed. Subtitles are available in English, French and Spanish.
If you are looking to hike Nova Scotia, this should be one trail that is on your list. It is one of the better hiking Trails in Halifax and maybe on the of the best hikes in Nova Scotia with it's great ocean views!
There are many things to consider when you think Nova Scotia Travel, or even hiking in Canada, but no Nova Scotia Vacation would be complete without a nice hike!

Relaxing Nature, Wandering Writer: LaHave River/Centennial Bridge
I live someplace beautiful. I'm an author and I enjoy hiking to picturesque spots to write. It's relaxing and calm and I thought I'd share she experience.
This trip is close to home; the shore of the burbling LaHave River near the old railway bridge for the Centennial Trail by the town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. You can't really see them in the video, but trout kept jumping around in the river most of the time I was writing and a dragonfly took a break on my knee for a while.
I was working on a strange fantasy story called 'Abundian Battle'. What's an Abundian? Well, you'll just have to wait and find out. it's probably not the kind of battle you'd imagine either.
The music is two tracks by the fantastic fingers of Doctor Turtle. The first is called Grow Grotesque and the second is Go Tell It On The Molehill.
If you're interested in reading any of these stories I come up with, you can subscribe to my writing at
Thanks for stopping by for a bit of tranquility.

PoDeixar #234: Cidades do Canadá - Bridgewater, NS

Dinky Rural Malls Series: Bridgewater Mall
Bridgewater Mall, located in the town of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, Canada opened in 1975. The mall is located on the south shore of the province. When the mall opened, the layout was the shape of a dumbbell. The original anchor stores were Woolworths, and Towers. They were on either end of the mall. It was later expanded to a figure 8 shape; and a food court was added. Woolworths became Nothin' Fancy and Towers became Zellers. The addition of Sobeys pushed the food court out. in 2005, a Wal-Mart store opened in the town, and the mall began to dwindle. Shoppers Drug Mart was expanded and the mall shape turned from a figure 8, to more of a 6. The mall was dealt another blow when Zellers closed in March 2013. Around this time, mall management switched hands. The former Zellers space was split in to Dollarama, (which was previously next to the train mural, across from Magic Wok.) SportCheck, Mark's, and Winners. The later two are accessible from the mall. SportCheck and Dollarama are not.
Here is an old fact sheet from when Crombie owned the mall:
