Grass Point South Bruny National Park
Take the Grass Point Walk in the South Bruny National Park from the southern end of Adventure Bay. Walk along the beach and then up into the bush track that follows the bay out to Penguin Island. We saw oyster catchers, sea snails, seals and wallabies. Background music is Pachabelly by Huma Huma.
An Echidna Encounter
Whilst walking on the Labillardiere Peninsula on South Bruny Island (off SE coast Tasmania, Australia) we came across this little creature rumaging through the bush. Its a short-beaked Echidna (Tachyglossus aculeatus). They have poor vision but good hearing so I guess that's why I was able to get so close to it whilst staying as quiet as possible. There's no audio with the footage as it was filmed on a GoPro in its case, which is a shame as you don't get to hear it ripping at the roots to find ants etc.
Let's Do Everything Agnes Wants to Do - Black Pepper Abroad Ep. 032
Well as the title suggests, this episode is all about Agnes.
It's her birthday and she wanted to spend it on Bruny Island. Last year we could only spend a few hours here while on holiday. So we were very excited to return and properly explore the many highlights.
Our first port of call was the Bruny Cheese Company which was quickly followed up with oysters from Get Shucked. The weather was a bit wild over that weekend but we kept warm and cozy next to the fire in our small pet friendly beach shack.
Regardless of the weather we decided to hike 2 of Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks located on Bruny, Labillardiere Peninsula and the Fluted Cape. We even stopped in to see the Cape Bruny Lighthouse which is now the country’s second oldest and longest continually staffed extant lighthouse.
