Malaysia's Little Secret - Labuan Island
First of all where is Labuan and why we went there?
Labuan is a Malaysian island near Brunei with direct ferry connections between both Brunei and Kota Kinabalu (Sabah, Malaysia), many people recommended us to stay on the island as we were going to get a boat from Brunei to Kota Kinabalu and the only way to go from Brunei to KK by boat is to stop in Labuan first and then get another ferry.
We decided to take the ferry because we wanted to avoid the bus ride as it passes to multiple states of Malaysia and Brunei meaning that every time we enter a different state or country we get a stamp and at this point we don't have many pages on our passport left, so the boat was our best option. So we decided to stay a couple of nights in Labuan. The ferry from Brunei to Labuan takes about one and a half hours and then the other ferry from Labuan to KK takes 3/4 hours.
Anyway, we stayed in Labuan with a local Filipina - Luz, Luz and her friend toured us around the island and showed us the points of interest, there's not a lot to do unless you want to go to have some beers and enjoy the sun and beaches, so we recommend only a day or two to explore the island, also it's not easy to get around if you don't have a car, mopeds are expensive and local transports don't exist (at least we didn't find any).

We spent 3 days and 2 nights to explore the duty free island, Labuan. We were lucky that the weather was so beautiful and managed to visit the War Memorial, Peace Park, Chimney Museum and the beaches. The dinner at Anjung Ketam was absolutely worthy!
