SABA Island ~ Ladder Bay ~ Epic UAV Drone ~ Caribbean Travels at its BEST ~ WeBeYachting.com
Ladder Bay is an anchorage on the leeward side of Saba Island. It sits directly under the 800 steps to the old Customs House perched precariously on the lip of a cliff overlooking the bay and is locally known as The Ladder. Prior to the opening of the road down to Fort Bay, this was the primary point of entry for supplies to the island.

Saba is a Caribbean island and the smallest special municipality (officially public body) of the Netherlands.[4] It consists largely of the potentially active volcano Mount Scenery. AIRPORT: In 1963, Saba residents built the Juancho E. Yrausquin Airport. This 400-metre (1,300 ft) landing strip is reputed to be the shortest commercial runway in the world, and is restricted. Only trained pilots flying small STOL airliners, such as the Twin Otter and the Britten-Norman Islander may land there, as well as helicopters. Consistent air service from Sint Maarten and Sint Eustatius is available through Winair.

Part 4 of the Saba Road series.
The Ladder
This steep stairway that starts just outside the village of The Bottom on the island of Saba was used to bring any and all supplies onto the island until the road from Fort Bay was completed. I was told that it was used until the early seventies. It is a very steep climb but the views are incredible.

Sponge Gardens of Saba
Change the gear wheel in the lower right of your screen to HD!
This video takes you on a tour of two reefs off the Caribbean island of Saba, in the Dutch Antilles. The island has steep, volcanic slopes with a lush sponge community at most dive sites. The video begins with a roughtail stingray using a neon goby cleaning station and ends by following a small green turtle.

Saba Island, hidden gem of the Caribbean
Located in the middle of the Caribbean, Saba is a tiny island, nonetheless worth a trip, even for a few days.
Known as the unspoiled queen of the Caribbean, it hosts surprising tropical rainforest, a myriad of birds and iguanas, and its waters are amazing for scuba diving.
With limited tourism, it is still a wild haven to visit and spend a few days chilling in the wilderness!
Snorkeling Down Well's Bay, Saba Island
Definitely one of the best snorkeling locations on Saba Island. This place is full of sea turtles! :)

Saba National Anthem
Because I couldn't find a video of the Saba (Dutch Caribbean) national anthem, I made one. Images are videos and photos I've taken on Saba; audio is our church congregation (Holy Trinity Anglican in Windwardside) singing Saba, You Rise From The Ocean in honor of Saba Day (always celebrated on the first Friday of December).
Here are the lyrics:
Saba, you rise from the ocean
with mountain and hillside so steep
How can we meet you to greet you,
isle of the sea, rough and deep?
Come, let us look at the rowers
Their faces so placid and calm
Guide us now safe through the breakers
Take us ashore without harm
Saba, oh jewel most precious
in the Caribbean Sea
Memories will stay of thy beauty
Though we may roam far from thee.
Saba, oh pearl of the ocean,
Friendly and lovely, though small,
Do not forget to be grateful
to God, the creator of all
He in his goodness will guide you
And bless you in every part
Making you always most precious
Saba, so dear to my heart
Saba, oh jewel most precious
in the Caribbean Sea
Memories will stay of thy beauty
Though we may roam far from thee.
