Dawn till Dusk aboard the Gerry Ann
Dawn till Dusk is a short film shot through the lens of a Goldsmiths Anthropology student. The film adopts a co-aesthetical approach to Visual Anthropology filmmaking, which incorporates the concept of time into the aesthetics of the film format, in order to represent the concept that the trawling industry in Brixham, Devon hasn't progressed at the same pace as other industries throughout the UK. The film was shot aboard the Gerry Ann in Brixham, Devon.

Ramsgate Arts Summer Squall Festival
Ramsgate Arts is a collective of creative professionals and townsfolk who have come together to make things happen in the Kent seaside town of Ramsgate.
It's a great place, but there's neglect and deprivation too.
In particular there's a need for creative activities that people of all ages (but especially younger people) can participate in.
Over the past two years we have been staging events and exhibitions in the town, and last year we held our first festival - A Summer Squall - over the August bank holiday.
See it, say it, sorted.

Discarding Fish Due to Quotas - LBC's Fishing Trip With Nigel Farage
Nigel highlights the plight of the British fisherman (and is intercepted by the UK Border Force in the process).
Back in August, Nigel Farage went to Ramsgate and met Eddie on his fishing boat, ‘The Boy Joshua’.
The aim of the trip was to examine the impact of the Common Fisheries Policy (CFP) which is set and regulated by the European Union.
Nigel discovered that Eddie and son Joshua could not earn a living with their current quota, as well as having to share their fishing waters with other European nations.
Eddie said he was throwing away more and more dead fish: It depends, some we can get back in alive but at the end of the day there are some we can't get out the net quick enough, there are that many of them.
Skate used to be a very big catch for us until about 2007 when our fishery department decided they were going to ramp up the rules and try and destroy us.
There's just a few of us left now, we are a dying industry, when we could be a nice little profitable business, employing people and putting money into the community.
A Quota system will always lead to discards in a mixed fishery where it is impossible to catch the right mixture of fish. Due to this quotas become increasingly out of line with the abundance of fish as fishermen cannot land and record all catches due to the quotas.
Fishermen are being forced to catch more than necessary but to land less - crushing livelihoods and the marine environment. This mad, unsustainable quota system must end in mixed fisheries when Britain Leaves the EU.
Fishing for Leave heart-fully thank Nigel for continuing to unreservedly support the British fishing industry and communities and for his and LBCs time and effort for coming down to Ramsgate.
An especial thanks must go to Eddy Temple for his efforts for the day - not one sweary word was uttered by all parties all day..!
