Lady Hydari Park is named after the wife of the first Governor of Assam.Lovely small park at the centre of the city for all age group.The park is very well maintained.Though we didn't visit but there has a mini zoo with Deers, buffaloes, eagles, baby leopard etc.There are no Zoos in Shillong except this so it might be another reason for animal lovers and kids to visit this park.It's a good place to spend few hours being away from the hustle bustle of the city.

Incidentally, one of the first things you are apt to notice when you enter the Lady Hydari Park that lies in the heart of Shillong City is the Japanese style garden. The round shapes of the hedges with circular design elements, willow trees with their leaves almost sweeping the ground and the numerous small ponds scattered all throughout the garden all have a distinct Japanese influence.

As we went to Cherrapunjee in december, the falls were almost dry but the weather was very clear and for that we ended up walking on the riverbed of 7 sisters falls.It was in the beautiful Eco Park from where the 7 sister falls jumps downwards to make it look stunning.You can spend a whole day out here with your friends and family with seperate children play zones.One can have a beautiful view of the vast stretch of Khasi hills from here.
