Holiday to Garda village in Lake Garda, Italy (Lago di Garda)
Deciding we wanted to do an Italian Lakes / Gardasee / Lake Garda Holiday, we settled on Garda village as our hotel central spot from where we commuted each day to see the area of Lago di Garda. If you're planning vacation holidays to Lake Garda, Italy, I'd say Garda town or Bardolino is a good spot since it's right in the middle of the coastline, so driving South or North is about 1 hour away, as opposed to staying in the South or North where driving to the other end would take about 2 hours, or more if there's traffic. Maybe Bardolino is even better than Garda because I think the choice of high quality restaurants is better, although Garda has a few gems too.
I made some videos over the course of our 4 days staying in Garda, which included their market day (an art market and an antiques market), some daylight footage along the lakeside and in the small town lanes, and some evening / night time clips with all the pretty light reflections in the lake. We also stopped by Bullio gelateria since at the time of our visit it was rated the #1 gelato spot in Garda on tripadvisor - and it was indeed very good!

Lake Garda Italy Highlights and Attractions (Lago Di Garda)
Edited video and still images from my vacation in Malcesine, Lake Garda in August 2013, staying at the wonderful Hotel Vega.
I'd highly recommend Malcesine as a lovely picturesque town to stay in, relax and explore. It has bags of character and plenty to do, but is also a useful base, at the more Northern end of the Lake, so access to Limone, Torbole and Riva is easy using the passenger ferry.
Food is excellent wherever you go in Italy.
The day trip to Venice was a must, however due to the searing heat and endless streams of tourists (I know I was part of the problem!) it was difficult to enjoy at the time, but now looking back at my footage of the Gondola ride I'm quite enjoying it more now in retrospect.
The day trip to Bolzano and Renon was really pleasant; a 2 hour easy coach ride to Bolzano, a pretty town with attractive, colourful buildings and great cable car ride into the mountains where we completed the rest of the climb by tram. Renon gave us great views across the mountains (I think The Dolomites were visible in the background), and some very interesting 'earth pyramids'.

Lake Garda – Garda Trentino
The North part of Lake Garda (gardatrentino.it/en/lake-garda/) surrounded by attractive mountains, is the native part of Lake Garda in Trentino: Torbole-Nago, Riva del Garda, Arco, Tenno, Dro and Drena. The Lake Garda is a holiday destination for relaxation and rest, for sports and outdoor activities, for entertainment, wine and food.
What enables a 365 day a year holiday? The mild Mediterranean climate, clean and bathable waters, fascinating villages and suburbs, rich vegetation, accessible mountain routes, traditions and cultures which are still alive.
In Trentino Lake Garda the holiday is enriched by the local wine and food propositions: the native Trentino wines and grappa, lake fish and salada meat and the extra virgin olive oil.
All throughout the year it is possible to cross the trails, which from Lake Garda rise all the way up to Trentino until they reach the surrounding mountain tops, on foot or by mountain bike. The waters of Lake Garda in Trentino are bathing and remain one of the most favourite destinations for those who are passionate about water sports, such as windsurfing and sailing.
Malcesine & Monte Baldo, Lake Garda (Lago di Garda / Gardasee, Italy)
Whilst on holiday in Lake Garda / Lago di Garda/ Gardasee, we drove to the little town of Malcesine to explore the lakeside and walk through its picturesque streets. After stopping by for an obligatory gelato ice cream at Cento per Cento (delicious!), we headed for the cable car / funicular station (Funivia), to see the view from Monte Baldo aka Mount Baldo; a little mountain nearby that has great views over the whole lake and surrounding green Italian mountainous countryside / mountainside.

Garda Trentino isn’t necessarily the first place you think of visiting in Italy! Rome, Florence and Milan might get to top billing for many-a-traveller but Lake Garda, especially the area around the Trentino region of Italy - Garda Trentino, is without a doubt one of the best places to visit in Italy!

Malcesine, Italy - Lago di Garda, Castello Scaligero & more - 4K ????????
#Malcesine is a municipality on the eastern shore of Lake #Garda, the biggest lake in Italy, in the Province of Verona in the Italian region #Veneto, located about 120 kilometres northwest of Venice and about 40 kilometres northwest of Verona. Malcesine's most prominent landmark is the Castello #Scaligero, which has 13th-century fortifications and an older medieval tower in white natural stone. Like the castle of Sirmione at the southern end of the lake, it is named for the Della Scala family of #Verona who ruled the region in the 13th and 14th centuries and has the characteristic swallow-tail Ghibelline merlon crenellations. Remnants of an Etruscan tomb have been found within the castle walls. Most of the structures visible today date to the period of the Della Scala. The bell of the castle was cast in 1442 and it is still in service.

Lake Garda (Lago di Garda) is located in the northern Italy, is known for its crystal clear waters. At the south end, the town of Sirmione is dominated by the Rocca Scaligera, a fortress with harbor views. The nearby Grotte di Catullo archaeological site includes a Roman villa. On the lake's western shore, in Gardone Riviera, is Il Vittoriale degli Italiani, former home of poet d’Annunzio. The Dolomites frame Riva del Garda, a resort in the north. This aerial drone video was shot in 6K resolution is Winter on a sunny, but foggy day. Some footage was filmed on the Lombardy West side, near Limone sul Garda on the way to Tremosine, other part were filmed on the East Veneto side near Castello.
Poets and politicians, divas and dictators, they've all been drawn to captivating Lake Garda (Lago di Garda). In fact, 7% of all tourists to Italy head for the lake’s shores, taking to its wind-ruffled waters in the north and village- and vineyard-hopping in the south. Surrounded by three distinct regions – Lombardy, Trentino Alto-Adige and the Veneto – the lake’s cultural diversity attracts a cosmopolitan crowd. Mitteleuropeans colonise northern resorts such as Riva del Garda and Torbole, where restaurants serve air-dried ham and Austrian-style carne salada (salted beef), while in the south, French and Italian families bed down in Valtenesi farmhouses and family-friendly spa towns such as Sirmione and Bardolino.

Beautiful views of ancient ruins of a Roman Villa. The location is also known as Grotte di Catullo, Catullo being a famous poet born in the Verona region and thought to possibly be the owner of the Villa. Grottoes of Catullus is the name given to the ruins of this Roman villa at the northernmost end of the peninsula of Sirmione on the southern shore of Lago di Garda. Today, researchers believe the extensive ruins are from a grand home started near the end of the first century B.C., after the poet is believed to have died. It was built for a wealthy family from Verona, in whose territory Sirmione lay during the Roman period. The villa is on the end of a tip of land poking into the lake, with gorgeous views on three sides.

Strada della Forra, riding the Forra Road - Tremosine - Lake Garda - Italy - road SP 38
Motorcycle ride on the amazing Strada della Forra road, on the Lake Garda. The ride takes place in Tremosine sul Garda, within the Province of Brescia, riding the SP 38 road, a unique road built through a very narrow mountain gorge and then running on a panoramic coast of Lake Garda, the wonderful largest lake in Italy.
